I seriously doubt a simple vet visit with basic blood work done will cost $10,000. Try a low cost vet clinic if you can't afford a full service vet hospital. Here are other suggstions: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/155462/cant-afford-a-vet-please-read

A 19 year old cat definitely needs a visit to the vet. Being weak and emaciated is a serious concern and oftentimes indicates an underlying medical condition which may be something easily treatable. Is your cat eating and using the litter box ok? If eating is difficult, try watering down pate canned cat food to make it easier to lick up.

Unfortuntately there really isn't much members of TCS or any other web site can suggest. We can't dignose your cat. Be wary of people who insist that their heir home remedies and supposed vet-approved treatments are cures and works wonders. You don't know the supposed remedy or treatment is actually safe for a cat or not. There are lots of trolls out there who will make something up for the pure fun of it and couldn't care less if a pet ends up even sicker or worse because the desperate owner followed the "treatment".

Basic bloodwork and a vet visit will probably be more like $200-$300. She needs to see the vet. There are things that can help...like care credit. (Can apply online or the vet.) And some vets will do payment plans. Being 19 doesn't mean she will die, but being 19 and emaciated does mean that she desperately needs help.

For the Carecredit they offer promotions many times so that if you pay off within 6 months there is no interest attached. We used it the night we took Kitten to the ER so there was no worry over what everything might cost and then paid it off. I'm allergic to letting CCs make money off me. Some hate some love it . We love it. That slush fund for us or the cats is always there.
