Hi Feline owners, lovers, enthusiasts. It's exactly 03:05 a.m. in Cape Town, South Africa. My kitten is about 6months maybe a bit more and been pregnant for over a month. She's being extremely clingy even though she's use to following me around and stuff she seldom MEOW'd until this morning. I can feel the kittens kicking inside her belly. I'm guessing it's nearing her time? What to do? Advise.

Nunu gave birth to 4 kittens, however the second one has her hind paws curled inward. Should I leave it for a few days or call the vet to come check out the newborn kitten? I read that I should keep massaging her and gently flex her curled paws before seeking expert help. After 6 weeks see a specialist? I already have homes for them and I don't wanna give that specific one away. I wanna nurse her back to health. She seems like the strongest of the litter though. Always pushing her littermates away from the teets! :D

We had some treads on this, even recent treads.  If you do have a good vet, you can surely consult him,  its even wise.,  but otherwise, follow these advices you alredy found.  It usually turns OK unless extremely bad case.

Yours dont sound very bad.

@catwoman707 can help.  Begin by gently massaging the legs and moving them towards the correct position a little at a time.   Six weeks is too long to wait for splinting, but catwoman707 can talk you through it.  Can you post pictures of the kitten's legs?

Thanks a lot folks! Some sad news. The fourth kitten died earlier today. She was too weak and didn't make it. :-(

Hello in South Africa! Welcome to the site.

LOVE your comment, imma guy! We will help get you through this.

These twisted legs can be fixed because you will be starting in the next few days :)

Kittens are extremely pliable in their first weeks.

First thing first, how is momma doing? She's very young to have kittens already, so I'm wondering if she is caring for them well, has milk for them, etc.

Please don't allow her out so she will care for her kits, and hoping you will be getting her spayed so she doesn't have more?

It's very hard on them having litter after litter, especially her starting so young, she isn't even fully matured and grown yet herself.

Can you post pictures? I'd like to see the one kitten's legs.

Allow them to stay with mom constantly for 3 days, then you will be pulling the one baby and massaging the back legs between your fingers, massage massage massage, then gently bending them in the correct position.

I don't mean forcing, I mean feeling how they are soft bones and flexible, and are coaxing them to grow right.

3-4 times a day.

Very soon you will see them improve, more and more. By 3 weeks they should be almost normal or even fully normal.

Be sure to give mom lots of fresh clean water and some canned food daily along with her dry food.

She will be eating and drinking ALOT more now, nursing burns so many calories and she needs lots of fluids to produce milk!

Good Afternoon Everyone. It's about 13h00 in South Africa, Cape Town. Another kitten has passed away shortly after the fourth one! :-( So only the first 2/4 survived and is very healthy. I have a concern though, Kyoto (2nd kitten) seems to have her umbilical cord still attached and its bleeding, I am keeping it clean with cotton wool and lukewarm water cleansing it. It doesn't seem to cause her any discomfort though. I have asked my sis to take her to the vet anyway to check it out. Mischief, (1st born) is getting fatter by the day! I'm still waiting on advice as to how I can post pictures of my 2 remaining kittens? And as I stated in my first posts, Kyoto has the twisted hind paws that curl inward. Is it okay for me to start massaging her limbs now that she's a week old? None of these things about her seems to affect her in anyway. And she always seems to crawl toward Mischief and sleep by him, seldom by Nunu (mom). Is that normal?

Please begin massaging gently and positioning legs/paws in the proper direction. The sooner the better. You could have already begun really.

I am guessing that the umbilical area has not healed yet on Kyoto because it gets rubbed when she drags herself around since her paws are twisted. It may need to be bandaged. The vet will be able to tell if it is infected.

At a week old the cord should have fallen off by now.

If it is a little piece only and does not appear to be red or swollen at all then it's likely not infected but it's best to have this checked out by a veterinarian.

Yes, legs are ready to be worked on now.

As often as several times a day is best.

I am concerned about why 3 babies have died. If you know that they are both gaining weight everyday and are having full rounded fat tummies then mom must be providing enough milk, but if you have any question about this then it is best to find a scale that weighs in grams/ounces, and weigh them both every day.

Report their weights here and we can tell you what is enough weight gain.

They must gain daily to be well and healthy.
