Hello all

I love cats. I love cats mire than people. I only have one cat though. More important than my parents I know my Buster would not allow me to have another cat. Buster once saw me holding another cat - yes cats do get jealous. :-)

Buster is a girl. When I first got her the people who gave her to me thought she was a boy, was even told by a vet she was a boy, so they names her Buster. But when I took her to the vet to schedule "him" to be neutered I was told he was in fact a she. :-)

Buster is a former feral. She was given to me after my previous cat had to be put to sleep from cancer. Every year Buster's mother has a litter of kittens. They keep trying to catch her. The people who gave me Buster had adopted a kitten from a previous litter. Buster was about 6 months old and a tiny six pounds. Less than a year later I took her to the vet and she was close to 12 pounds [which the vet told me is fine for her. Buster is a big girl. I often mistake other adult cats for kittens I have gotten so used to Buster's big size]

She is terrified of strangers and is even still skittish around my family but they do not spend a lot of time with her. I also have threw brothers and they tend to be loud and large and do not fully understand or take time to understand how to approach a cat. But me and her - we are buddies. I am told when I was away she even tried to bite my brother when he was putting her food.

The first three years she was not a lap cat. She let me pet her. Let me pick her up and hold her. But if I sat down she was gone. She would only come sleep next to me after i had fallen asleep - sometimes i would wake up at night and feel her next to me. But after i got my job at Best Buy she suddenly became a lap cat. On my days off she would sit on my lap for hours. If my lap was occupied she would sit by my bed and stare at me until i removed whatever it was from her spot. One time i had to be at work at 4am. Buster was leaning against me. I tried to gently push her aside. She stood up, stretched, yawned, and the sat on top of me. And she loves to have her tummy petted.

I love my cat. Im 3arly 2013 I was in seminary and treated horribly. I was alone and had no one but my cat. If not for my Buster i would probably not be here today. People are horrible. Cruel and nasty. When I was totally alone. When the people I had trusted like familuly turned their backs on me after treating me like dirty litter Buster was there. People are cruel, nasty and greedy. Thry will crush you and take what they can. Cats are so much better than people. Shame we can't trade all the people on the planet for more cats.

I love my Buster. There is nothing I would not do for my Buster. :-)

So sorry to hear you had such a bad time in seminary but I'm very glad Buster was there for you.  These little guys can truly be life savers.
