Mist Is Gone

It is hard to type. The tears are blurring my vision. Here's her picture from this summer. Today we sent her over the Rainbow Bridge. Her gottcha day was in May 1996. I remember her as this charming little silver and pewter butterfly tabby kitten who grew up to be . . . . Mist. Always a lady, sweet and loving. She had gotten so gaunt, was not eating, very stiff and lame. Would moan, then vomit. Not in pain, I think, but miserable more than happy. And it was not something that would get any better. We'll bury her near her brother Fog. 19 years, 7 months. A long time. Not long enough.

RIP dear old lady you had a good long life!

My heart goes out to you, it is never easy to say goodbye to a loved one, especially one as loved as yours. You gave her and her brother a wonderful long life, what wonderful care to live that long! You took on her pain as your own, there is no way you let her suffer. The loneliness and pain takes a long time to accept, she will be much missed from your life, but never forgotten, she will live on forever in your precious memories. RIP beautiful girl Mist, you will forever be held in a loving heart!

I know the devastating pain from losing such a precious kitty. Your Mist was truly a beauty and obviously so very loved. You gave her a long and wonderful life, and she gave you 20 years of all her love. That is truly beautiful and remarkable! I know the pain is unbearable right now and will be for awhile. Hopefully in time your pain will lessen, but it will always remain. Mist was a huge part of your life and will be missed immensely. I am so so sorry for your loss and the pain you are in. I truly wish I had magic words to say. I hope one day you can remember your sweet Mist with smiles, and remember how happy you made each other.

I am so sorry for the loss of your little lady Mist- it is true, there is never enough time with our precious furbabies no matter how long their lives are.  Fly Free sweet Mist- and land softly, you were so loved!

Sometime in the future, you may find comfort in this piece- it was sent by me when I lost my precious Tiger in July. It will make you cry, but it will also eventually warm your heart because it confirms that your dear Mist will live in your heart forever, that love will never be gone.

It doesn't matter that we know this is coming, sooner or later or very soon. It is a grievous loss, whenever it happens. We were perhaps a few days soon but she was not happy any longer, in and of herself. And better than even a day late.

I'm very sorry to read this.  Almost 20 years--as you said, a long time.  But never long enough.  My heart goes out to you.
