So far out in left field I got lost
I have been searching for a companion for my Nemo(The Alaskan Malamute mix) ever since my daughter moved out and took her dogs with her. Nemo and the rottie never got along very well anyway.

Anywho, I found this beautiful girl on Petfinder.com and went to check her out at my local animal shelter. She is a Husky mix that I just fell in love with as soon as I saw her in the animal shelter. I am glad that I went when I did, according to the people at the shelter her days were numbered since she had been there since Aug 12. I just can't see how anyone could have passed her by and not got her. I am rambleing now since I am so excited
I am leaning towards the name Nakita, unless someone can come up with a really good name for her. Pictures will be better once I can take some shots in the daylight.

And now without further ado presenting Nakita(?)

And the big question is whether your other dog will get along with her? Most animal shelters will let you take the resident dog into a room with the other dog to find out if they are compatible or not. If this shelter does that, I would suggest you test the waters before making the big committment.

Nakita is beautiful BTW I hope it works out-

So far all has been going well with all of my boys and now my girl too
She is settling in nicely with Nemo. So far they are getting along with only one small squabble. I checked on them a few minutes ago and they were curled up sleeping pretty close to one another

I am glad there is animal harmony in your home now. You had so much problems with your daughter's dog, you deserve some peace.

Congrats!!!! She is beautiful!!!!

I hope Nemo and her become the best of buddies!

Well, this may be a stupid name suggestion , but there was a TY Beanie Buddy Husky dog named Nanook. Here is link to a picture. The dog is actually gray and white not black and white in real life as far as I have seen.

Congrats on the new gorgeous addition! No ideas for names, I'm sure something will just seem to "fit" her personality. That is great that she's getting along with everyone already. Keep updating and post more pics if you have any lol! She really is beautiful!

Bless her heart she has been in the shelter in that little cage so long she is really scared to have the run of our huge backyard. I think she is getting over the shyness and being kind of scared of Ken and I
She is coming up to us now and I know with a lot of love and patience she will be a wonderful dog.

Nemo seems to be a lot happier too. He has been really depressed since my daughter's Rottie left even though they would constantly get into fights....Go Fiqure

Ken just sneaked out there to check on them and was loving on both of them
: That is one reason why I love that man so much.

She's beautiful! I'm glad to hear that she and Nemo get along already.

For names, you could stick with the Finding Nemo theme and name her Dori for Nemos ever faithful friend.
