Dawn, fleas, mother with 1-week-old kittens

I have lactating momma cat 1 week old kittens I'm moving and need need to get the fleas gone i know that dawn is the best to use but can I use it on the mother and how long do I need to wait until I can bathe the kittens any advice on this and keeping them away would be greatly appreciated thank you

Your best bet is to put a tube of Advantage on the mama cat's neck. It will kill most of the fleas on her and her babies. Advantage II is much more effective than any other topical product. We do not recommend Hartz and Sergeants brands.

It is not recommended to bathe kittens less than 3 weeks old as they cannot regulate their own body temperature yet. It is also not recommended to bathe a lactating mom.

You can use a flea comb on mom and kittens, and dip the fleas into Dawn water to kill them.
