Hey,

I'm new over here. I need an advice, but let's stablish something, i'm a really really anxious person, i even do treatment for it. Anyway let's talk about my cat, last friday, i noticed that he wasn't peeing like he used to, he's going more to the litter box producing only two or three drops of urine, i noticed he also started licking his penis a lot. Anyway he is eating normal, drinking normal, playing with his brother like nothings is disturbing him, he even give me that look invinting me to their play time.

Saturday morning, he peed an average amount of pee, and then started his trips to the litterbox, he doesn't howl and don't seem to have any pain while taking his position on the litterbox. Like I said before, once he finished teardroppin urine he went to play.

Today, he did the same thing, big pee followed by tiny drops, as you can see in the pictures below.

He is not using the litterbox, he only use it sometimes. He seems fine, no  lethargy, no appetite issues, playing a lot and making a mess.

I'm don't have the cash to take him to the vet right away, i'll only have the money on the 20th. I've been talking to some people about it, they said, since none of my cats are neutered, that's maybe an over-sexual instimullation, like she's smeeling some female and trying to spray etc.

My main worry is that he may be somehow blocked, which by his behaviour i don't know if it's possible, i'd imagine a blocked cat to be in a lot of pain or discomfort probably refusing to play and even eat.

I'm really worried, People keep telling me to chill out and watch, but i keep thinking that i'll loose my cat.

I'm sorry for my English, i live in Brazil.

Hello and welcome to The Cat Site!
There seems to be a problem with the pictures you uploaded. Could you try uploading them again? It's easiest to just use the image icon and upload them directly to the site.

As for your cat, I would be worried too. It's quite common for cats to get UTIs and crystals and this can be very serious if not treated quickly. Going to the litterbox more frequently is a sign of an infection.

You just have to replace the * to *************. But an UTI wouldn't make him feel a little "down"/lethargic?

Yep it really sounds like something that needs a vet. Please make sure he is peeing and no howling in the litterbox otherwise it really is an emergency emergency situation that can't wait until October 20 because he is probably blocked. I would make sure you can get him in on the 20th to avoid delay.

He's peeing everywhere actually, just inconsistent amounts, sometimes normal, sometimes just drops. I was really thinking about pawn up my smartphone at the vets office. I do not think he is in a life threatening condition, i think he really needs a vet but i'm making a big deal of it, i mean, he's more comfortable with his symptoms than I am. I'll go on Tuesday for sure. I just wanted some peace of mind. He doesn't like going out, he always howl and panic on the transport box. I'm feeling awful that i'm gonna make him go through it again, but again it's for his best. God help me.

I went through this with my older cat Buffy; she even had slight pink coloration in the urine. Although female cats don't block as easily as male cats, we freaked out and took her to the vet many times for the duration of the UTI. We gave her meds for the pain and the infection. It worked up until the point she was off the meds. She would get it again and again, this went on for a month. We moved the litter box and changed the system (Tidy cat Breeze) to traditional litter box. Everything went back to normal after that. Now, your problem may be different . My friends male cat had a blockage issue and it turned to be fatal, but his cat wasn't peeing at all. Some vets offer care credit, so if you can take him in early, that could be an option for you. Bring in a urine sample the day of the visit. Try to get the sample as fresh as possible. I had to trick my cat by placing some clear wrap on her usual pee spot so the litter didn't absorb it.

The little pee spots is likely because of the irritation, which makes him think he has to pee, so he frequently tries to.

Thank You all!!!

I'll try to take him tomorrow. I think he isn't in a iminet risk of death, Am I Right?

They are both indoors cat, i hope the vet can give him a shot, cause they are not easy when it comes to pills.

He just peed again, his average amount, but once he's finished it he started his cruzade trying to pee, and only dropping a few spots and licking his penis a lot.

He didn't use the  litterbox  he is doing it over some boxes, old clothes, sheets...

Sometimes I wish this things would happen to me instead of my pets. It's just sad to watch you know.

Thank for all the support, i'll report you guys back when i take him to the vet.

As long as he is peeing no no imminent threat. Your kittys are very lucky to have you. Once he gets healthy you may want to consider neutering them they really will be happier and will have less health concerns in the future.

Pure speculation, but I believe he is associating the litter box with pain, so that's why he trying other places to pee. Once our cat got over the UTI, she began using the litter box again.

The licking further irritates things. If you've ever had a UTI, once the irritation (urge to pee) subsides, the pain goes away until you go again.

It was an UTI, the vet didn't do a urine test, that still bothers me. He's taking Baytril 15mg, half a pill, every day till Friday.
He seems a lot more comfortable and it's not licking his thing everytime... But he's now vomiting every now and then, the vet said it was a common side effect of Baytril and it should be gone once the treatment ends.
It's possible to diagnose an UTI without a urine test?
Anyway, thank you all for everything, and mostly for the patience haha I can be very annoying when it comes to worrying about my cats health.

It is possible to diagnose just on symptoms. This is a very common problem. The best thing to do is get s urine sample but I've seen it diagnosed without a urine sample.

our cat had similar side effects. The no licking is a great sign.
