Well my cat Princess passed away a couple months ago and it left me confused here is a little background. ..

I got Princess when she was only a couple months old and she was cross eyed.  I loved her and she was very attached to me.  When she turned 1 years old she got out and didn't come back for 3 days.  Later we found out she was pregnant. She had 3 kittens but only 1 survived.  We kept the kitten since they were only 1 year apart so they could be friends.  For 6 more years they had been best friends and we had them both vaccine but when I was coming home from school my dad picked me up and took me to the vet and I saw her in a box and broke down in tears. My dad said she was in my room sleeping when he found her. The vets said they didn't know what happened and we couldn't have the autopsy.  She hadn't been outside for years and bjust died out of no where.

If you have any ideas could you please tell me I just want to know what happened

Just like humans, cats can seem perfectly healthy and suddenly die. There's really no way to tell you what happened- it's possible she had a stroke or heart attack, she may have had a congenital condition or structural abnormality that led to it, but otherwise would have been invisible. It sometimes happens. I am sorry for your loss :( losing a pet is hard.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  I lost my soul mate cat very suddenly at age 9.  We rushed her to the vet; but it was too late.  We knew she had a heart murmur; so the vet said it was likely a heart attack or heart failure.  It was a very hard loss for me.  She had gotten me through some really tough times in my early teens.  I was in college when this happened and it bothered me for a long time.  I didn't know if I could have done something for her.  But with more years and experience behind me; I see that isn't likely.  It just happens.

Sometimes you just don't know.  I've heard of very young cats passing from heart failure.  They really are like us in that.  You hear of runners who collapse and pass away during races and they find the person had a condition they didn't know about.  It's always heartbreaking.

I'm sorry you may not be able to get a solid answer for why you have lost Princess.  Grieve for her; because that's a natural process we all should allow ourselves.  But do remember the good times with her and how much she was loved in her lifetime.  Maybe make a collage or scrap book with her pictures.  Put her special things in a pretty box.  And love on your other kitty; because they grieve too.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's hard enough dealing with an older pet you know someday soon you will lose but so much harder when they are young. Having to go through having to put so many of my fur babies to sleep because of so many illnesses I was thankful to have the one who died quietly at home in her sleep probably of old age. Though this is so hard for you now, know that Princess passed away in her comfortable home around everything she loved and that was a blessing in and of itself. it just stinks losing her I know....

How sad, so sorry for your loss, it's heart breaking losing our beloved cat and more shocking when they died without knowing what's the cause.

Rest in peace dear Princess...

Hi I am very sorry.I have had many autopsies done. That is a crock.Did this happen after her shots or?? LMK they can have allergic reactions to things that we are well unaware of.But no autopsy that is not true.i have had to have many as I lost kitties under 5 yrs old & I needed to know. There is always risk of an allergic reaction to any med. Also undetermined heart conditions showing no symptoms can rear it's ugly head and take a life very quickly.I am truly sorry & sending you strength to forge forward with her babe as the stress now will be tremendous so watch your little one closely.Hugs C.

I'm very sorry about her passing. Your story is very similar to mine, I too had a Princess, she was a calico MaineCoon and she too passed at 7 yrs old. One day she was there and the next she was suddenly gone. I too never had the autopsy done. I do think that both our cats passed from heart issues. Was your Princess any purebred? May she rest in peace and maybe they both now are playing on the other side.
