Hi,

Wednesday night while I was sleeping, my cat had several bowel movements in her litter box. The poo was soft, like diarrhea. Normal color,no blood.

Thursday she wasn't able to poo at all (understandable, since she had pooed so much the night before), but a couple of times, she scooted her butt on the floor.

Friday afternoon, took her to the vet. He got out some poo that was built up in there, and then said she has tapeworms. He gave her an injection for the tapeworms and said she should be pooping soon.

Today, - Saturday shes pooped very little (less than a teaspoonful), and what little there is is still soft. She seems to be interested in food, but will eat very little at a time. Other than these things, she seems like her normal self, doesn't seem to be in pain, not depressed, etc.

Does anyone know what this might be? Do you think, she will be okay until Monday when the vet is back in the office?

Thanks

Yes she should be fine this is a very common condition and the injection is a good way of getting rid of them fast. In all likelihood the injection may have upset her tummy. With the injection the tapeworms are dead and that's good. Hopefully she will be back eating a lot tomorrow. I'd give her a couple days.

Thank you very much for the quick answer and good info! It makes me feel much better about the situation! She's 15 or 16 years old, and amazingly this is the first time she's had this issue. She's had UTI a few times, but not this.

I wish mine never had them but they have had them many times. I live in mosquito country.
I'm sorry to hear that. We have quite a few mosquitos in the summer, but they usually congregate around the water spout. Babs doesn't go outside anymore. We built a big cat run so that she and her buddy PJ could get fresh air, but he enjoyed it more than her, and she hasn't wanted to use it since he passed away.
