I told Boots not to get to excited about the climbing posts we were looking at on the computer. "I ain't spendin' that much money for a carpet pole and I ain't spending all day in a hot shop making one.

So. I went out to the shop and spent two hours going through materials and working on ideas for a Cat Tree. Took about an hour to cut and assemble.

One decorative porch post. One 2 x 4. One 1 x 6. Three wall brackets. Some lag bolts and screws. I need to paint it and get some small carpet pieces to glue to the platforms. Then hang some play toys on it.

It has been "Boots Approved." Now for the finishing touches.

Yep. "I ain't havin' no cat." Soooooooooo. I was never interested in cats. Now that we found Boots under the porch and he has decided our place is nice enough for him. LOL. I have really gotten into researching kittens and cats.

One thing I have learned. Boots now owns the office chair and the sofa. And I am the Doorman. "Oh, you want out?"

I've also noticed that Cat People are the nicest people.

Boots seems to be enjoying his cat tree and his new home. He is really making himself comfy. How great!
So, you are now a true cat person. It never takes long. They have a way of making you love them. Also, yes cat people are sure the nicest people you could ever meet!!

Oh, I don't know about additional cats. Boots is a hand full. Always on my lap or following me around.

He started spending a bit of time on the tower and playing with the hanging toys today.

I still must ask permission to use his office chair.

I'm thinking about installing a "Cat House" atop the cat tower and see how he likes that.

Ellag, you, are so right!
I always said that I only wanted one cat at a time. I am sure you know what happened. I thought my one cat was lonely, so now I have two.
Lucky for me, they get along great and are best friends. I think one would be lost without the other. So cute together. So yes maybe Boots would like a buddy??

You know I reckon humans get more than one cat at a time for another reason. I mean face facts, more than one cat eat more food , two use more kitty litter, wrecks your furniture faster. Now if you can honestly say yes to any of the above, then you have fallen for 'The let's get a Human.' They think up these plots to make a human feel guilty, lonely,  happy, (that's another one they are very good at.) Yep, they are masters of cuteness show-offs bravado it's not your decision to get cat no.2,3, we are programed by the cats. We do their bidding no matter how we feel we still go out in the rain, snow just to get their favourite cat food.anneno2

Don't make the hanging toys too long. He could strangle himself, I'm sorry to say that but unfortunately it's true.
They should be long enough for his paw to reach and.not his head.
