I'm new to your site, and to cats in General. Last week I adopted a 1 year old (Orange and White) which the shelter called a Tabby Cat with the given name of "Tom" which was too common for me, so I renamed him Levi.

At my home I have adopted two English Bull Dogs, both at the age of 8 months old, both males. Both of them are very social, but stubborn as heck. I seen Levi at the shelter, and he was a loving boy, wanted plenty of attention, something told me, he needed a stable home, with food and lots of TLC…. So here we are.

Prior to 2 weeks ago, had I seen a stray, I would have left a bowl of milk on the patio for the stray, Being that Naive about cats, always have been a dog person, so trust me when I say i'm in a great learning curve.

Levi was on a steady diet of Kibble, which has now changed to 50/50 can wet food. The english bulldogs are crate trained, and in being pack orientated, go to their crates for protection, feeding, and at night when I sleep along with while I'm away at work. I have since purchased a playpen from amazon for Levi, hoping he will find comfort in his crate.

Levi and the boys aren't friends yet, however the hissing, and growling for the most part has ended. I've noticed that Levi is quite the explorer, and even walks across the top of their crates when they are locked down at night to survey the boys. I'm still waiting for them to grow use to one another, and hopefully sooner than later become friends. However I'm allowing them to do this on their terms and in their time frame.

When Levi is in his play pen, which is 4 foot tall, by 3 feet wide by about 2 feet deep, with shelves I believe they called perches, I notice the boys go visit Levi, although no growling or barking, The boys are still very curious of the litter box, and have become fascinated with the laundry room. This morning, i plan to get a baby gate, to at least give Levi the whole room for space, peace and quiet, still progressing towards a friendship at some point.

I've enjoyed your web site, and have learned quite a bit from reading through the articles, and simple questions on the forums. Thanks very much for such a knowledgeable site, which clearly helps newbie's such as myself, to provide a better home, greater care, and the right kind of environment for both my dogs, and for Levi.
