Hey I'm new here and I have a pregnant cat her name is tyga andi cn feel her baby's moving and I can also see them move. I took her temp under her armpit the first one was 37.4 C and I took this this morning and now it is 35.0 C does that mean she's close to labour or should I do it again and cheak again

My other cat zoomzoom has already had her kittens and tyga went into heat shortly after zoomzoom went into heat and zoomzoom had hers on Monday and its Wednesday today

Hey I'm new here and I have a pregnant cat I did have to who's heat was very close together, my cat zoomzoom had her kittens a few days ago Monday to be exact and now I'm just waiting for my cat tyga to have hers so I was reading a link on Google and it said I can take her temp in her armpit and she was totally fine with me doing that I started doing it 2 days ago and first it was around 37.0 C and 36.0C and at the page said it would be a little slow and so I cheaked her yesterday and it was at 35.0 C and 34.0 C and I was just like cool that must mean she's close but I just cheaked it again and now its back to 37.0 C and 36.0 C and I'm a bit worried because 2 days ago she was smoochy a lot and yesterday she was half smoochy and half getting pissed off and today she is a lot aggressive won't let me touch her or anything and she's not eating a lot of her food like 1 quarter and that's not like her and just today she's ate like 3 quarter s of her food. My other cat zoomzoom before she gave birth I think a day before she had a bit of mucus greenish yellow mucus and now my cat has that she had that last night and none now that I know of and im just really worried

I wonder how reliable your temt measuring is.  Going down to 35 and  even 34 degrees is not common, even if measured in the armpit.  I suspect you didnt held the armpit closed well enough.   So I worry more about your feeling she seems not well, not eating as usually, more aggressive too you, etc.

All this may happen when they are high preg, they are very uncomfortable, if nothing else, being high preg.  The stomach is squeezed together,  difficult to breath properly, difficult to wash off properly, may have  precontractions....

Do you have access to a veterinar,  if you think she is ill, and really need the vet care?

Often its a good idea to phone your vet and discuss things.  If your vet accepts telephone advicing.  Some do, some do not.

Most do, at least to their regular paying patients.

So,  if I understand what you wrote,  everything may be entirely as usual.

BUT if you do worry, if you being her owner  do recogize she is not well - the best advice is to contact your vet.

Good luck!.

Stage one contractions can last quite awhile - up to 24 hours. It really varies from cat to cat. It could be sooner. Rub her tummy if she'll let you!
