My brother found a cat at work at brought him home. He is a sweet little gray angel that can only be a few months old. He is very skinny and such a love bug. We would love to keep him but think he will get adopted easily because of how young he is.

Contacted a non kill shelter and they said they would take him. Is there any way I can have him back if he doesn't get adopted in a few weeks?

I want to make sure that they understand that we want him back if he can't find a home. I don't want them to yes me to death then just put him to sleep.

Any tips would help please. He cries when he's in his carrier I know my heart is going to break when I drop him off in a few hours :-(

I don't have a clue but I would assume if he doesn't get adopted and they call you they would have you pay an adoption fee for him. Why don't you just keep him that way you will know he will have a good forever home with a loving family.

I agree, accidents constantly happen at these shelters, orders don't get passed to the right people, they get stressed and forget, etc. The only other thing I can think of is to call daily and see what is going on.  When I want a certain animal to be assured of adoption, I go ahead and deposit money with a local vet to pay for the spaying, if YOU decide to adopt the kitten it would still be there. I have also paid for the adoption, so the kitten could go to a good home at no charge, after a screening process of course. Good luck, but I really encourage you to give this sweet baby a chance if at all possible, you KNOW it would get a good home with you, and the precious little one would be forever a wonderful companion!

I feel like I bit off more than I could chew. We have one cat and she has been hiding under the sheets & comforter since he has got here. She is hissing at me and hasn't used the litter box.

We have a Rottweiler too that would need to slowly be introduced. We have 4 outdoor cats and one injuries in our basement. This is the official cat house lol!

dRe problems with the resident.  It sounds like a Feliway diffuser could help here... Making her feel more comfortable.

Another option is YOU try to find him a good home among your friends and contacts...

If you wish, you can probably use the no kill shelter as your "umbrella", everything going in their name, including help with vet costs, but you are being the cats  temporary fosterhome, and thus, the cat never leaving your place.

No possibility of accidents...

But if he is no feral, and friendly and young, probably gone astray or dumped, he should have easy to find a home.  Just be sure they do pay some sort of fee / donation - unless you are really sure they see the cat as a very precious gift, and are a good home.

"A kitten for free to a good home" is very dangerous for that kitten!
