Last evening I noticed my 6 month old male kitten having some sort of a swelling in his belly towards the rear. It didn't feel hard to touch and didn't seem like he was in any discomfort. This morning I took him to the vet and he said that it's just equivalent of having a beer belly and that there is nothing to worry about. His overall health is fine. He ways 6 lbs. Very active and playful. Was just wondering if any other kitty parents have noticed such a 'beer belly' and is it normal?
Thanks in advance.

I had one that looked like that.  It turned out he had megacolon and his extra large intestines kept a lot of food in there.  We added pumpkin to his diet and that helped a lot.  When I first found him he had bee consitipated.  We put him on wet food with pumpkin mixed in and that worked fine.  I hope yours is that simple.  If his belly keeps getting bigger, you should follow up with your vet.  Use a measuring tape to measure it and that way you can keep track of it.
