Hi-
My 5 year old cat has just gotten over some back pain. Just in time unfortunately for us to have adopted a new kitty. Our old cat has always been super active and energetic so we were excited to get him a play mate. But now- although his back is healed and he seems to be moving well- he has completely lost his meow and purring seems to make him gag.
He is still eating normally and using the litter box, but we are a little worried because he is vomiting 1-2 times a day and he does not usually vomit at all. Not even really a hair ball. My vet seems to think he just needs more time to heal from maybe over using his voice. Should I give it a few more days or insist upon an appt. I would obviouly love to save some money, but if he needs antibiotics to get rid of this I would like to take care of that.
Any herbal remedies for sore throat and coughing?

Thanks for help!

I'm sold on Pets Alive products, they have something for everything. Your cat may have some residual nerve damage that is affecting his throat and bowel system, and may indeed need months for healing. The vomiting may be from this also, but is definitely not normal, Call your vet and see if he will prescribe something without a visit, most will. My vet gave me something for  intestine mobility that worked well for vomiting. Make sure he is getting plenty to drink, vomiting will cause dehydration quickly. As long as he is eating, drinking. and using the litterbox, that is a GOOD sign. Check out this site fro remedies under cat health, or the internet, but remember, a lot of these 'remedies' may not help at all, and may be harmful, so always check with your vet first. All the luck!
