My cat had the last of his teeth removed last week. He is finally coming aroumd and seems more like himself. But he is not eating more than a couple bites and is not cleaning himself at all. Im not sure what to do for him at this poiny. Help? Suggestions? Had anyone been through this?

He'll come around when he adjusts to this big change. Cats are VERY adaptable. I've had cats continue to eat hard food with no teeth, if you watch a cat closely you will notice that more times then not they swallow their food without chewing. Just take it easy and offer good, smelly food that your cat adores like tuna. Now is not the time to worry about nutrition, just getting him to eat. Offer soft cat treats and get some Gerber Baby food in turkey or chicken, he'll love it. Also now is the time to make sure he is well hydrated, offer low sodium chicken broth, nourishment AND hydration! Thank you for going the extra mile with him, you will surely be blessed. Good luck, and keep us posted!

Thank you. I appreciate the response. That's exactly what we have been doing so that's good. I feel better knowing we are on the right path. He is so unhappy right now and we feel so bad. I think I'll try that broth tonight that's a good idea. He definitely needs to drink more. Thank you!!!!!

You might find this article helpful [article="30192"][/article]. I'm sure he'll adapt in time - it will just take him a while to get used to the changes. :vibes:
