Every year we take Makena with us to get pumpkins

There are quite a few mice living in and about the pumpkin patch - Makena gets a bit sidetracked and has to be encouraged to keep moving

Makena knows the pumpkin farm, we often hike around the fields with him in the summer. After getting our pumpkins we visited the pond to watch a large Koi

On the way home we stopped to have lunch at a reservoir and do a little hiking

Makena always does something entertaining along the way..

When we finally got back home, an exhausted Makena took a nap with his mum...

Makena looks like an awesome cat! Wish I could take my cats for a walk like that!

Just curious.....do you put frontline or any kind of tick/flea treatment on Makena?? I can only imagine coming across many ticks and fleas hiking through the woods.

We don't use anything on him and we have never had fleas and only the occasional tick on the inside of his ear or right near his eye. I have no clue why this is. My wife and I get ticks all the time when hiking around with him. My only guess is that his fur is very different than a regular cat's, there is no undercoat, just a very fine colorcoat.. maybe the ticks don't like it?

I think you are going to get plenty of  OH's and ar's so I'll get in quick what a fine cat Makena is he reminds me so much of cats on the farm, only difference we didn't lead them they followed of their accord. Of course they were just moggies but they were loyal and we loved them no matter who their daddy was. regards anneno2.

Makeena is a gorgeous cat, and I bet he loves his life of hikes and adventures! So cool that you are able to do that.
