I have a three month old Kitten named Binx. Shortly after getting him I noticed a change in his bowl movements. At first I thought it was due to the change in kitten food so I waited a couple days to see if it would get better on its own. After about a week and a half there was no change and I started asking around. A friend suggested adding pumpkin into his food to see if that would harden his fecal matter.  After about three days on the pumpkin and blue buffalo mix it seemed back to normal. Shortly after wining him of the pumpkin the runny poo came back. I decided it had to be something with the cat food so I tried him on Natures Choice Kitten food. After several days there was still no improvement. I was cleaning up cat mess all over my house. Binx couldn't make it to the litter box a lot of times. I decided I would try an adult cat food and read that more fiber in his diet would help. I bought blue wilderness wet and dry. There has been no change and I feel like this is hopeless. Anyone that can give me a suggestion on how to fix my little guys tummy problem would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds to me like you need to get Binx to a vet. All kinds of things can cause diarrhoea, and you need to rule out any physical (as opposed to dietary) causes before you can move forward. Also, remember that kittens can dehydrate much faster than adult cats, so diarrhoea can potentially become more serious.

I hope Binx feels better soon :vibes:

I agree with @Columbine that it sounds like a vet visit is in order.

In terms of diet, though, what was the last thing that Binx ate that didn't cause him stomach upset? Was it the pumpkin and Blue Buffalo? It sounds like he was okay on that but then got worse again when you took him off the pumpkin. If that's the case, I might try going back to that--or even whatever he was eating when you first got him, if he was initially okay.

But I would definitely get him to the vet ASAP, to be sure he's not dehydrated or have a parasite.

Good luck!

Did you go to a vet? Sure hope he's better.

I have a 14 yr old Calico & she kept throwing up, so I started giving her "Gentle". It really has helped. She won't eat canned..
