Hi I am new here,

I have a cat whos 7 years old she is a indoor out door cat ( which I don't like more of a indoor cat person)

we noticed today she was acting very strange heavy breathing not eating, lack of sassyness and we also noticed her mouth open alot and black discharge around it, she also gags and coughs it sounds like, I am worried to death, We are broke so I don't have money to take her to a vet :-(

Not sure what to do!

Help or Advice please!!!

No one can diagnose your cat over the internet.  Based on what you've said your pet needs to see a vet.  It certainly sounds to me as if she's eaten something either poisonous or very bad for her.

Open mouth breathing is a very bad sign, the discharge sound very odd. She needs a vet as her life could be in danger and she is in serious distress.  Can you borrow money or run up a credit card?

Edit: I agree with @newmamaof3 that the discharge could be blood and i would further suggest that this is a life threatening emergency.

Yes she needs a vet. Black discharge around the mouth could be dried blood mixed with saliva. That coupled with breathing problems could signify damage to her trachea or esophagus. Perhaps she ate something that was not only poisonous but also caustic meaning it burned her throat on the way down. Or maybe there is something lodged in there causing bleeding and breathing difficulty. Get her to a vet asap!

To me this means she is bleeding internally and it is life or death here.

Struggling to breathe is due to blood.

I sure hope she is at the vets now!
