So, I've had Gidget for about 4 months. She's had issues, most of which I believe have been resolved
But tonight as I was taking new photos (she's getting so dang BIG), I noticed her whiskers are odd. They don't stick straight out from her face and they are kind of curly.
She is front paw declawed for that same reason; long, fast growing curling toenails. They bit her toe pads if I didn't clip them every other day.
Now I'm worried about her back feet. I've been clipping once a week, but I noticed tonight she has 1 nail on each foot that is very long. It isn't biting into her toe pad, but it's cutting me.

How horrible would it be to declaw the back paws? Also wondering if I can just have the offenders removed?

I would really love to find a vet that was more familiar with these issues. If y'all have any ideas, please let me know.

Thanks a bunch,
Kary

I don't recommend declawing the back paws.  Most good vets won't do it.  They do not retract the same way as the front and can cause major issues if they don't have them.  Would it help to trim those back claws more often to keep it under control?  I would trim them as soon as it is needed to avoid having to declaw the back claws.  I am really not sure if it would be possible to just declaw the certain claws that are having the issues, but I would think it might cause issues to have some gone.  Have you discussed it with your normal vet who did the declaw on the front?

Also, I don't think the whiskers are an issue, my boy's are kinda  wavy looking too.  :)
