What's the situation here?  Is your little one breathing rapidly ALL the time, or just when you feed him (her), or what?  WHY was the feeding tube installed?   Hepatic Lipidosis, or what?  Have you given your Vet a call on the issue?

My cat had a feeding tube, but it was YEARS ago, so I honestly don't recall, but I don't think so, not while just laying around, however, his tube was installed directly into his tummy, unlike most of the tubes today, which are E-tubes.

Joeys not going to make it. His breathing is not right.  His breaths are very rapid.  The time it takes for him to inhale and exhale is about one second.  Each breath is the same.  That short quick breath.  I feel terrible.  I can't do anything but try and comfort him because the Vet isn't open until 8AM.  I'll be there right at opening so he can cross the bridge.  I'm certain nothing can be done but unless their some miraculous change in Joey and his breathing, I'll be saying bye to my little buddy.  Joey was a damn good cat.  When Joey's sister (Chloe) passed away over 2 years ago I posted about it.  One of the things I said was that, "I'm sorry for all the times I went out when I could have stayed home with her instead."  And that thought was tearing me as she passed on my living floor.  I felt that I could have somehow been a better owner somehow had I never went out.

UPDATE:

I'm sad to say that my best friend Joey passed away Saturday in my arms.

Turns out he didn't even have FLS fatty lover.  He had 3 cancerous tumors that grew so fast that they didn't even see them on his first set of X-Rays.  One of them grew to be the size of a stick of butter and collapsed his lung.  And we tried so hard... Poor baby.  I miss him so much...

I'm so sorry

Joey is now at peace and able to breathe unencumbered again.  Run free at bridge, little one
