Hi there,

I'm a little concerned about my cat who is about a year and 2 months now although not sure exactly as I found her on the street when she was little. I'm currently living in the Peruvian Amazon and there isn't really access to good info here for healthcare for humans, let alone animals. Because of financial constraints, the vet gave my cat a hormonal injection at the beginning of the year to prevent her from having babies, as getting her spayed here is incredibly expensive. However, now she has a vaginal discharge coming out of her. i noticed actualyl a few months ago, and consulted a vet I know here who said it was nothing to worry about and just a few hormonal changes. However, I've noted that she still has it now and after reading more online I'm abit worried that it's something more serious! She seems generally fine, although she did have a small patch where she seemed to be wretching a little bit like she was nauseas. maybe she could be pregnant now, I'm not sure? the vert misdiagnosed her as being pregnant ages ago and she definitely wasn't. I know that she's been in heat and i know she's been at it, but she doesn't appear to be pregnant at the moment! Any guidance would be great as i am struggling to get good medical advice here!

Thank you!

Hi Lily.i deal with people all over the globe with not pregnancy problems or lets say non pregnancy things but mega Colon in cats.i do know things are very expensive in foreign countries as well as some North American drugs we take for granted are not available in certain countries.that is what I do for people is find those meds required to control MC in kitties.most are being euthanized which to me is horrific & should never be happening.Anyways reading your post i came across a link to a med available in Peru & just wondering if this is the injection your girl got.If you don`t know what it is called please find out the actual name of the drug.Ok

Here is the link & below reading you will see side effects.

I believe if she were my kitty i would take her in asap.In fact pls save enough money to have her spayed & then you will never have to worry again.i realize that is easier said than done but being in a 3rd world country or North America we all love kitties. But to be a responsible pet owner is a must for there is overpopulation abundant in your country & in every country.if she has a urine infection from this med it will cost you money to have her seen.So you see vets don`t always tell you the cons.they still get their money one way or the other.usually the animals paying the price.if she were mine I`d be taking her in to the vet. Also the males Tomcats, people need to get on board in your country that repopulating animals needs to be controlled. The animal always paying the price. You tried your best I realize but the fact is without a spay there is a possibility now that she is sick. Which a UTI left untreated can move up into the kidneys of your girl & kill her.Not Good.Hugs C.

Waat is the discharge like?  Clear?  White?  Yellow?  Does it have a smell to it?  It is constant, or just some of the time...once  month, once a week?   How is she acting otherwise....normal, or does she go into a form of heat without being fertile (supposedly)  How long is this shot supposed to last...a lifetime?
