Hello, I have a male cat that I've had for 2yrs. I found him outside. From the time I got him he was always a very frisky cat but very aggressive. He has been pooping in my tub for about a yr now maybe longer. I changed cat litter from regular to clump and seal. He still goes in the tub. I bought a covering box. He still goes in the tub. I bought a uncovered box he still poops in the tub. I started leaving the shower on so he wouldn't go in the tub and he pooped on the side of my toilet. I don't know what to do to get him to stop. This is a routine for him. Please help

Hi, and welcome to TCS :wavey:

The first thing to do is get him checked by a vet - litterbox issues often have a physical cause.

Have you tried putting a box in the tub? I know it's not ideal, but it might at least get him going in a box again. Anyway, I'd always rather move a box than have poop directly in the tub. On that note, be sure to use an enzymatic cleaner to clean up after him - unless all traces of the smell are removed he'll continue to think that the tub is an appropriate place to go.

Also, how many boxes have you got? Generally, the rule is one box per cat plus one extra. So one cat equals two boxes. Some cats prefer to pee in one box and poop in another. If that is the case with your boy, just adding a second box could solve the problem.[article="32366"][/article][article="32424"][/article][article="32341"][/article][article="32493"][/article]
