I was disappointed by my last trip to Petco. Their pricing was high and they didn't have as much variety as I wanted. I searched around for other options and found a listing for Pet Supplies Plus. I looked up their address and we headed over.

Not only did they have a great selection of high end canned foods (and the pricing was pretty decent) they also had frozen raw cat food as well! Petco ONLY had freeze dried raw for cats and that was it.

I purchased the Nature's Variety Instinct raw (chicken type) and I think that it's pretty neat! Being vegetarian and disliking smelling and handling meat, I don't see myself making any more homemade cat food. But I can totally see supplementing the cat's canned food with some commercial raw. I thought that the price was very reasonable for raw food. Per ounce, it was pretty close in price to feeding the upper priced canned brands, like Tiki cat.

I also found out that Pet Supplies Plus sells clumping litter for less than Amazon. So I left with a bag of that, 5 cans of Merrick duck pate, and a bag of frozen raw food.

I'm thankful for options! I like to avoid putting all my eggs in one basket, so to speak, and it's nice to have local places that sell products at sensible prices and have decent variety.

That's odd regarding Petco not having the frozen raw as the Petco stores I've visited, several on the east coast, all have NV frozen raw for both dogs and cats.

Some of the Unleashed (by Petco) stores even have separate freezers for Instinct raw food for cats.

I'm glad you found some good deals though. :)

It could vary from store to store. That makes more sense for them to carry it. I was pretty surprised when Petco's employee showed me the freeze dried and said that was the only raw cat food that they had.

We live in Michigan.

I live in Ohio and shop online mostly, but I have a petco, petsmart, pet supplies and Walmart within 5 minutes drive. I always end up at pet supplies plus, they also have vet day, where they will trim cats nails for you!

I love pets supplies plus! They have a bunch of cool stuff. Also, if theyre not carrying a flavor you want for raw food for cats that you see for dogs you can always have them order it for you.
