I have a kitten displaying snorting and open mouth breathing, she started this at 7 1/2 weeks and she is now 13 weeks. the other boys in the litter are fine. she struggles for breath, she is eating very well and i have seen a vet and she's been on several kinds of antibiotics. i believe she had a herpes outbreak so i treated her for that based on the doctor's diagnosis. that has cleared up but she still has this snorting thingn. even when she sleeps ... i now believe it may be due to an elongated soft palate. look it up online. i am seeing the vet again this week to get their advice on when to test her for this. they would have to put her under and i worry that she may not survive... but it says that this condition can get worse as they get older. i think i may wait until she is closer to a year.. i'll keep you posted! she is a beautiful chinchilla persian with a doll face, not a mush face.  she does not have an infection or pneumonia or anything else wrong with her...
