Yesterday I took our DSH, Loki to the vet since she seemed not to feel well - coughing and noisy breathing. After an xray and exam, the vet told me he is certain she has cancer. He feels that chemo is not an option so we are just using steroids to buy her some time. He showed me the xrays and it looks to be advanced - how she got this bad while acting and looking so healthy, I don't know. It just goes to show how well cats can hide illnesses.

I'm so sorry,my heart goes out to you. Steroids will prolong the time Loki has with you and should help with a lot of her symptoms. We got a year with advanced mouth cancer with our little guy Hobo, I pray you get at least that long with your little one. Just love her and try to enjoy the time you have with her, I'm sure I don't have to tell you that, at least you do have some time.  Please don't hesitate to come here for some comfort, it does help to talk to those who understand what you are going through. I'll pray that Loki has a lot of quality time left and when that horrible day comes she will go peacefully, knowing she was well loved and will spend eternity held in a loving heart. Look into those loving eyes and know she loves you so much, and thanks you for a life well spent. Take care......

I am so truly sorry about your Loki being so ill. It is so devastating. Yes, an illness in a cat seems to come on so very quickly. They can seem just fine one day, and be so terribly ill the next. I pray that Loki still has plenty of time to share with you. Just love her, comfort and spoil her. She knows how much she is loved and loves you just as much. I will pray for you and Loki both. Again, I am so very sorry!!
