You need to treat your carpets and furniture with a good flea spray that has growth regulator in it to break the lifecycle. Do this when the cat is not around obviously. Then vacuum vacuum vacuum. If you don't want to use chemicals then try food grade diatomaceous earth. You can sprinkle it on the floors under the baseboards in the crevices of your furniture. Work it into the carpet and baseboards with a stiff broom. Let it sit for a couple days. Three vacuum! You have to vacuum every day...under furniture, furniture, curtains daily! Also wash all bedding don't leave clothes laying around and remember to empty your vacuum cleaner outside each time. Do this for a week or so. Treat your cat- capstar for the adult fleas he has and revolution or another monthly spot on treatment for long term control and you have to repeat the monthly treatment every 30 days for several months. As for the dander there are several shampoos available to help reduce shedding and dander but if you can get rid of he fleas that will help a lot with kitty's skin!

Thank you so much, I actually have and am using the diatomaceuos earth now. I have hardwood floors so that helps as well. It is the dander as well, it is never ending.  My daughter is traveling cross country to be home for the holidays and has to bring her cat with her, she is so afraid to bring her here, I just hope I can reassure her that the coast is clear, lol !  Thank You for getting back to me as well!

Good luck! We had fleas about six months ago and were diligent using several different methods together and were able to erradicate them after about 2 weeks!
