We have a 9 y/o female. I noticed a white bump on her back about a week ago, and today I see that there are 4. I don't know what they are and was wondering if anyone recognised them to be of significance?

Thank you for your help!

Are they embedded in her skin, or in her fur? I can't tell from the picture. They almost look like white ticks, but that can't be right (in my experience). Can you get a fingernail under them? I'm as confused as you are. Is your cat getting flea treatment? Indoor cat or has she been outside?

Ah, sorry! They are part of her skin, and are very much attached.

Huh. I've actually never had a cat with these, but if I saw them, my guess would be a bite of some kind (flea bite). Where on your cat are they? Edit: I see on her back.

Have you looked at the rest of her skin thoroughly? Do they bother her?

@catwoman707 here's a good question!!

They are small white parts of her skin. I found 4 on one side of her back, 1 on the other. None anywhere else, but the one on the other side of her back has a small yellowish pustule on the end. They don't seem to bother her at all, and there have been no changes in appetite, activity, etc. She is an indoor cat who used to be outdoors, but was given a clean bill of health before becoming only indoors. Definitely not caused by a parasite - this apartment is brand new and spotless. I can get a fingernail under them.

I have no idea what they might be.  Possibly skin tags, although they don't normally grow on the back, from what I've read.  Possibly a fungus?  As you can see, I'm guessing.

If this were my cat, i would take her in to be checked, just for peace of mind, especially since they seem to be multiplying.
