This afternoon.... My roomate came home from Church and started griping at me about the time I spend on the computer and the phone bill (which we both pay half of). Soo we get into an argument and I said that I wasn't gonna move into the house with her( we were planning on moving into a house) her me and 2 other girls... And I said that I was gonna move into a one bedroom apartment by myself. And she said that she was gonna take Patches!! Reason being is that she doesnt Patches and Tiger to be split up because they are sort of sisters
. Can she take Patches?
I have had Patches for 7 years... Ever since she was a baby kitty. I know that she doesnt want to split them up. I am soo agrravated right now at her.

Whoever owns Patches should get to keep her. If one of you got her and pays her vet bills than whoever does that, owns the cat.

Who adopted/bought Patches? Have you been roommates less than 7 years? Maybe you can work things out. I would suggest the following: 1) getting a flat or volume rate for your Internet connection, so you don't have to argue about who uses it more, and 2) use or get cell phones (perhaps the pre-paid ones) to make calls, and split the cost of a regular phone line used for incoming calls equally. If four of you are going to be sharing living quarters, the problems will multiply, so it's best to work out a game plan in advance. I can understand that you're peeved, but I don't think these are issues that have to lead to insurmountable problems.

This is just my opinion, I think your roommate can take Tiger but if you are Patches full owner she can't take her. If they are separated, the cats will be lonely at first, but eventually they will adjust.

I am Patches's meowmy
..... I got her through a friend of a friend who was giving away her cat. We have been roomates off and on for I think more than 7 years. We split everything including rent 50/50. I think getting a pre-paid cell phone is a very good idea
Jcat. I am gonna look for one on Ebay right now.... Thank You Jcat and Catlover67... I will take your suggestions to heart and see what I could to make the situation between me and her better

hey sandra, sit down and talk over it with her... i guess staying together for such a long time makes talking easier.. maybe different methods of splitting up the cost would make things easier... if you need somebody to talk, you know where to find me...

Sandra, I can see why you're angry but if you own Patches than your room mate can't take her right, I hope everything settles out soon!

The ownership of this cat must be confused for her to even bring that subject up. She must think that she co-owns her or owns her out right. I would discuss this situation until it is CLEAR who owns your cat. That's a mess you don't want on moving day.

Sandra,

Do some research before you buy your pre-paid cell. I have Verizon and love it, but I can pay up to $0.35 per minute. I almost bought my partner a Tracfone and he would have been paying $0.65 a minute!! You also need to look at areas covered by the service. Some pre-paids have a very limited calling area.

I turned my long distance off on my home phone and only use my cell phone now! It actually is cheaper for me!

Definitely do your research on the prepaid mobile phones. Check out rates, calling areas, and minimum purchase requirements, and choose the best option for your area and needs.

I'm quite happy with mine - I use Virgin Mobile. They're the best in my area and have a pretty good calling area, with good nationwide rates and a lower minimum purchase of minutes than the others. I've also been very happy with their customer service.

If you do end up moving into your own apartment, you can also consider getting another cat to keep yours company.
