Its not pretty, but I used cardboard to seal off mine with strong tape (the kitchen was incomplete when I moved it and is missing some boards).  The cardboard is still there!
Do you have any spare pieces of of wood you could use to block up the gap?

If I did, the cutting and fitting would damn near kill me. I was thinking strong packaging tape, and fortunately there is a good solid undersurface as to which it has to adhere to. This MAY be the workaround unless there are any other suggestions. Thanks for your reasonable suggestion!!

We bought some peel and stick felt at the local craft store and cut it to size then used a staple gun to staple around the edges. Worked great and you can't see it hardly at all if you buy felt the shade or close to it of the cabinets. Plus when you are ready to remove it just peel t and he staples come out with the felt and no one will see the staple holes cause they are on the bottom side of the cabinets.

I placed some of those tube-shaped draft blockers (AKA "door snakes") in front of my oven and a few other places to prevent small toys from flying underneath. I got tired of digging them out and cleaning them off. If you can't find anything large enough, you could probably DIY something. Sweatpant legs filled with padding, maybe?

Thanks all for your responses. We ended up fashioning some long cardboard pieces and packaging tape "for the block" so that they're completely invisible from anywhere in the kitchen or otherwise. That little guy is not going to get in there unless he wants to imitate a squirrel and destroy everything. Thanks for all the help everybody!
