My daughter is trying to wean her kittens that are about 2 months old. No matter how much she is fed, she always wants more. I am aware she needs much more food as she is feeding, but I Feed her as much (if not, more) as our mid size dog! Plus I give her dry food 2-3 times a day, but she still cries out for more! She is also in pain if my daughter doesn't let her feed the kittens. I know it's important for the mother to teach her kittens about life, but all she teachers her kitten from her last litter is how to get the box of dry food out of the cupboard (and all over the floor) how to get into the bins. They are criminals of the animal world! One will distract the dog while the other eats her food! Anyway, any tips on how to reduce her pain in her teats? Much appreciated

Some balsam as for women?  I believe ist called for udder balm in american english...   If you dont have it, you can try with coldpressed olive oil or coldpressed rapeseed oil... (canola)

And yes, they do need to eat much...  It depends also in part, on exactly what are you giving.  A tip is  raw egg yolk, with her wet food, or goat milk, or... Some nice vitamine paste alike Nutri-cal, or similiar, doesnt hurts.

Unshelfish cooperation?   Wow,  cats are not supposed to be able to cooperate this way, when hunting food or such.   Although we know they can be friendly with each other, and take care of each other, etc...

See?  They do learn quite a lot from moma and littermates!

Pregnant and nursing cats need to eat as much as they want. They are expending many calories producing milk and nursing. When the kittens begin weaning to solids they will nurse less and her milk will slowly begin to dry up.

Do you plan to have her spayed soon so she doesn't continue producing litter after litter? Her milk will dry up more quickly after she is spayed.

Oh yes, definitely getting her spayed! She practically fell pregnant after 1st litter, was going to have her spayed when we realised she was carrying AGAIN, even tho we kept her inside, she must have got out of a window, I don't know, but once the kittens are weani, off to the vet. Thanks for your help
