My cat hates my boyfriend

Hi.

My boyfriend gave me my cat, Victoria, almost two years ago. The cat follows me around all the time and even though she doesn't like to be held or petted, she tolerates it. I'd say she's affectionate towards me. The problem is that she totally changes her behavior everytime my boyfriend is around. She hisses, growls and hides from him. One time she even had instant diarrhea when she spotted him. She doesn't attack him or anything and my boyfriend swears he never mistreated her. What can I do? I know all that stress can't be good for Victoria...

I wonder whether she has had a bad experience with another male.

I'd suggest a feliway diffuser, and gently begin to have your boyfriend do all the 'good' things for her while he's there.. feeding her, giving her treats, playing with dangly toys etc.  Hopefully after sometime the positive associations will overcome the negative ones.
