So my 5 year old fell in love with a wild cat and over the course of a couple weeks, made this cat now named sparkle glitter hers.... My problem 10 days into the in the house intro she gave birth to 4 kittens...1 regular tail 2 nubbed tail and 1 no tail.... The suspected father is a huge Manx that's the size of a medium dog... Number 1 all are doing well. Sparkle sleeps in bed with my daughter, kittens are 1 day old and are doing well... My question do they need special care due to lack of tails, and are they going to be huge like daddy? Please help I'm winging it... Mom cat use litter box cause she refuses to go outside anymore yes she is rotten

Sounds alike a sweet story somewhere there with your dau taming and socializing this semiferal - as you hinted in another post.  You could surely write it down as a lovely novel!

Nay, its probably just the kitten without tail who may be in danger of internal deformities, alike damages on bladder and such.  but  With a little luck it may turn OK, without internal damages.  The future will show.

If daddy was big, they will prob tend to be biggish too, but it also depends on the mom...  The hereditaries in such cases arent no exact science, but they tend to be somewhere inbetween mom and dad.

Its sweet Sparkle sleeps with dau, but does she do so also now when she is a mom?  - the exact details on kitten care we will take in the preg and kitten forum, I wanted just hint there may be a question here.

Its only good she wants to stay inside, and thus insist on having a litter as her privacy place.   Esp now when she HAS kittens.  They can get in heat anew already  just a week after delivery.  They arent protected by lactacing, as humans are.   And you dont want to have your mom disappear several days in full heat, not while you do have small helpless kittens in your charge...

So, by several different reasons, its only good she is an inside only cat.  Spoiled rotten or not!   :)

She's an excellent mom to her babies... Now that they are here we see her maybe ten minutes... Why would that cat have deformaties of internal organs??? Is there a way to help it not have damages and how do you tell the difference between boys and girls... This is my second cat ever so I'm kind of clueless to the care of kittens especially a possibly extra special baby so any info would greatly be appreciated..... Sparkle had these babies under my daughters bed and I'm terrified she will move then in her bed.... Wish I could upload picture I have the cutest picture of sparkle and my daughter holding hands...

She sounds like a pretty smart kitty - all of our former strays run the other way when the outside door is opened!

I would let her take care of her kittens, watching them closely to make sure they are thriving.  Weigh them every day just to keep track and make sure they are growing.

I do not know about the tailless baby's potential for internal damage but if it helps, bring them all to the vet for a first check-up.  They may be able to sex them for you and it will put your mind at rest.

When you raise their tails, girls will look like an upside down exclamation point - the anus on top and then the vaginal opening.  You may not be able to tell right away.

You could try posting any kitten questions in the Pregnant Cats and Kitten Care forum.  They will have some more info.

Keep us posted!
