She has become very loving. Gone from growling at me to being friendly but today she has actually jumped onto my lap. Never before!!!! I've been using white sheets in her nesting area to hopefully show up any discharge. This morning I saw three very small spots of discharge. Her temp hadn't stopped yesterday so I will check again today. Not rectal!!! I'm using back leg auxiliary temp. Vet thinks between 6 to 8 kittens. Any guesses as to how soon I can expect labour?

This is very early, preparing for labor, not enough to say she is losing/lost her 'plug' yet though.

I'd call it at within 48 hours.

I agree with Catwoman. She's very close. Her tummy is very big. And no, the temperature does not always drop. It's an indicator, but not a totally reliable one. I really hope it's not 8 kittens, for her sake. My cat was HUGE, and only had 4. You're doing great! So glad you became official and now have veterinary support. Keep us posted.

Sofi is restless tonight. She is jumping on my lap and kneading me fiercely. Then she jumps off and goes in and out of the four nests I've offered. Then back on my lap and kneading again. Shes rubbing her face against mine. I've not seen this behaviour from her.

Cats become very affectionate near the end of the pregnancy.  Rub her belly if she will let you.  According to StefanZ this helps the hormones do their work.

Watch for her to leave a large deposit in the litter box.  this is her body getting ready for all the pushing.

It's 1am here in the UK and I've spent 3hrs with sofi. She has been restless and hoping in and out of all of the potential nests. She took to sleeping in the bath when she first came but tonight she has been rearranging her room lol. She was on and off my lap like a yo yo. I did rub her belly handsome kitty handsome kitty and she really liked that, another first. 2 days ago she was friendly but still wouldn't let me touch her belly. Now that's all she wants, when she's not rubbing against my face or kneading my lap. I've left her for the night as she settled down to sleep over an hour ago now. I've set an alarm for 4 am so I'll just check on her then. I do hope she delivers soon, she looks so uncomfortable now bless her. Thanks guys. Appreciate the support as always.

raising money to buy one of these for my back garden. It will be fully insulated and have heating and power. It won't be quite this big and it's for emergency temporary foster for adult cats. I'll still keep pregnant mommy and kittens in the house where its safe and sound. I have 3 ladies who help me now but we are all novice so we really value your advice and support

Sofi is in and out if different nests all the time now in between wanting me to stroke her belly. She is purring constantly. This is what I found on the sheet this morning.

and she is grooming herself top to toes.

It does sound like Sofi is in labor. The constant purring is her response to the stress of contractions, which she's probably been experiencing now for quite a few hours from what you say. Please keep us updated!

Love your idea for a back garden "house" for cats.
