Well its another day of watching and waiting. Moggy is back to her usual sociable purring self. She is still grooming but is happy to sit in her bed again rather than the nest. Looks like I'm back to the waiting game.

Oh my. She looks big enough to pop. I hope everything goes well with the birth of her kittens.

Took moggy along go the Vet today just for a quick check up. Vet said she still has perhaps a couple of days to a week to go! Poor moggy looks fit to burst. And just to make things more complicated I've had a stray momma and 5 kittens come in today. The kittens look fairly good, 2 are in the small side so I'm supplementing them with krm. They have assessed by the vet at approx 4 weeks so I will begin weaning. Thought I would just post some pics just because they are sooooo cute. Momma cat is desperately thin so it will be good healthy food and lots of tlc. That's me full up now for a while. I can only foster two litters at a time. Will keep you posted about how our precious moggy is doing. Hope you enjoy the photos of the new litter.

They are so adorable! Bless you for taking them in. You can try mush, but they may need to stabilize for a week or more since you just got them. You sound like you have things well in hand. Keep us posted!

Thank you. As a fairly new foster carer I am always so grateful for any advice. Always learning. The mom is willing to feed, albeit reluctantly, but the kittens are still hungry after feeding so I'm assuming she may not producing enough milk, it that her milk is perhaps not rich enough. Weiged them when. They came in so will weigh them again today just to see if they are gaining. Mom is pretty much tolerating feeding but will then move away and continues to dodge them. She is just so thin its such a shame. Will continue with bottle today and then try them on mush tomorrow. Thanks again .

A littl update on moggy. Her trmo reading from uner her leg today was 37.8 and one if her nipples had just a tiny speck if milk. The Vet said any time between 2 to 7 days and that was only one day ago. Could this be the start of something exciting?

She's getting there! Milk coming in is another good sign that she's close.

I have a feeling the kittens will go for the mush. They sound hungry. I'd go ahead and try it anytime now. They may also want bottles, or you can try putting the KMR in a dish for them to lap.

Poor mama being so thin. No reserves. She's lucky her kittens made it this far. Are you giving her wet food that's high in protein, like Fancy Feast? She should literally be eating as much as she wants around the clock. I'd give her some KMR in a dish too. You can also mix a raw egg into her wet food for extra protein.

Yes I've been offering her wet kitten food and dry kitten food. She obviously is not used to eat from a bowl as she is biting the bowl to so I've used a tray instead. I was reluctant to offer her the krm as this morning she had diahorrea which I'm assuming is just because of the sudden rich diet. Do you think I should offer her the krm too? Kittens went wading into the mush and began lapping as if it was going out if fashion!!! They certainly were hungry babies. After filling their tummies I managed to get momma cat to help clean and stimulate. They fell asleep on her within minutes the poor things. Kittens are safely in their bed momma is sleeping too, although well away from her kittens. Moggy my little pregnant beauty is calmly lay in her bed. My own cats have bedded now for the night so I think I might join them. Thanks as always for the support.
