My cat just had 2 kittens and they were both born dead.Like your cat she started bleeding a little it was like jelly and around 12:30 Friday her water broke we kept her in a box with blankets and I would check on her every hour or just sit with her well Friday goes and comes nothing then Saturday, nothing then Sunday, nothing finally Monday about 12:30 she had 1rst cat it had hair was its normal size but was dead the second cat comes out 10 mins later and it was in a ball and very tiny with no fur and it was dead. How could she have 2 kittens dead that were that different in size and everything like one lived longer than the other.I know I never felt them move and I rubbed her belly a lot I did notice neither had the placenta come out could that be why they died? She feels like she has another kitten in her,is that even possible?

It may be swelling of the uterus, but its fully possible there is another one...

Normally, I would say, if she seems OK no troubles, its just to wait for delivery.  But here as the third kitten is almost surely dead, it may be better to make the spaying already now, so you do two things at once.  Safeguard her health, and do the spaying you must do anytime...   IF the kitten is alive, it may even survive the spaying, and with your help survive...

But it sounds the third kitten is deceased it too, as you never felt any movements.

This happens because a cat will be in heat for up to a week and potentially mate multiple times with multiple partners. It's also possible that the premature kitten stopped growing and died in the uterus at some point, and that's why it was so much less developed than the other kitten.

If you think there is another kitten you can give her a few days. However, be prepared to see a vet if she develops a fever, discharge, or appears in distress in any other way.

Am I right in thinking it's advisable to consult a vet if no placenta has passed?

Unless she ate the placentas and you did not see this happen. An x-ray would be advisable to see what may be left in her uterus or birth canal.
