Lucky is 6-8 weeks old . Friday her rectum started coming out. I read some reviews where catwoman 707 was able to help several people. I would like to be able to talk to her to find out the complete procedure. We're feeding her yogurt and pumpkin but we don't know the ratios. We've also been using hemorroid cream;;, don't know how often. We need to know the total treatment. We're set up a funding site to get her an operation  but they don't give her much of a chance. All help appreciated.

What do you mean they don't give her much of a chance? Who?

Please post pics and describe her poop.

The vet said she didn't think she could get her rectum pushed back into her because fingers are to big; and even if she could she doubt if it would stay. We're trying to get funding for the operation anyway. They said it would cost  $250-$300 for it. I"m 69 and not real good with computers, I'll try to get the pictures posted. I would like to get the details on how to care for her. We're taking care of about 25 feral cats and we're struggling.

I commend what you are doing by helping the feral cats. I'm so sorry that you are struggling right now.

I hope the surgery can correct this problem for this baby. Can you call a different vet if the current one feels her fingers are too large to do it successfully?

Red Rover might be able to help. They've helped me in the past and they are very fast responding and caring. Its for life threatening and emergency care. http://www.redrover.org/redrover-relief-grants

Thank you for caring for Lucky and all the others.

Here is the direct link to the submission form. http://www.redrover.org/node/1850

Also have you tried applying for Care Credit? Its a credit card that is good toward medical expenses. Please keep us posted on Lucky.

The vet said she thought Lucky had diarrhea but we think she constipated. She had 2 little pieces of poop overnight dark brown and about 1/2" long. This morning after we soaked her in a warm bath to clean her up she had another small piece coming out. It was about 3/4" long pretty firm and a yellowish color. We've thought about  looking for another vet that thinks they could do the surgery.

Her rectum is very inflammed as well, this is likely due to long term diarrhea firstly, causing the inflammation, she pushes and pushes, and bowels are not really connected inside the body much so the constant pushing has caused this.

She does need surgery, it is fairly minor if it's done ASAP, basically putting it back and putting a couple stitches to close the sphincter a bit more so this doesn't happen again.

Fiber is great for straightening out stools regardless of diarrhea or constipation.

She needs the initial cause addressed just as urgently so this is not going to happen again too, if fecal float turns up negative then a microscopic exam is in order.

Kittens dont get like this on their own, so suspect parasites and more. (diet sensitivity, etc)

Lucky would like to announce that she is at the Jennings Veterinarians. She got enough donations to get started. Dr. Simpson will be doing her surgery is in the morning. Don't know the finial cost yet, but she's very happy. They are still skeptical whether it will last permanently. We're pulling for her that it will.

Perfect news!!

The cause of this needs to be worked on right away, get that inflammation down and her poop normalized.

It should stay in place.

Let us know as soon as you have any updates, we are rooting for her!

Lucky is out of surgery. The vet said all went well. She was able to get it all pushed back up into her. Lucky has to be on a special diet, special antibiotics, and special medicine, don't for low long yet. We get to pick her up tomorrow at 9 am. Thanks for your support but she still needs funding. Don't know the finial cost yet.

No they didn't help. At the time she didn't meet the eligibility requirements. I'll try to contact them again. Thank you.

Luck is back home. The surgery went well. She has to be checked several times a day to be sure it stays in place. She is on A/D feline critical care food at least until Monday, also special antibiotics . Monday her suture comes out and a check up. She also will have to be tested for leukemia before she can be introduced to the other 9 inside cats. This will cost about $100. Hopefully she won't have it. We hope someone would like to adopt her but the adoption rate in our county is very low. Lucky and I thank you for your support.

Glad she is back home!
Wow....$100.00 for a test for leukemia? Seems very high but maybe someone who knows more about specific tests will be able to shed light on that.
Lucky sure is a fortunate baby that you found her :)

For my rescue felv testing is $26.50 but regular vet cost is usually $50.00.

$100.00 is high.

I applied at Red Rover yesterday. They replied back a few minutes ago and said they didn't  have the funds. Sorry.
