My kitty has just started something new. If I'm not out of bed and opening the can for his breakfast, he gently tries to wake me up by nipping me on the nose with his teeth.

Not enough to hurt, just enough to say, "Hey I'm hungry, when are you getting my food down?" I finally took the hint and put his food in his dish, because it's a little hard to sleep with a cat nipping at your nose.

What little quirky things does your cat do?

Be thankful that kitty only gently nipping. Miss Mooni would lick, lick, lick my face and then bite HARD on my nose.  My nose looked like a pincushion for a couple of weeks until I got the aggression under control. I got to where I put my hand, fingers spread, loosely over my face to thwart the teeth.

Her harmless quirk is that she sleeps way down inside my sleeping bag, as I sleep outside during the summer months. I don't know how she doesn't suffocate but she seems fine. One night she was hanging over the edge of the cot like in a hammock, snoozing away. Tippi did this too, and would get under the covers in the bed, as well.

Lucy likes to lick my armpits when I'm asleep... I have to train myself not to sleep with my arm above my head anymore!

I have one that goes to sleep licking my face, hands (while covering face), and he WILL NOT stop until he is finished and goes to sleep...right next to my head. He also likes to wake me up this way when I don't respond to my alarm... :D

I have another that likes to jump on your shoulder and sit or if you are bending over (any where, any time) he will jump onto your back and perch like you are a cat tree! [emoji]128513[/emoji]

My cats are quite the characters! while I'm cooking dinner Diamond will bite the top of my foot. I have no idea why she does this. She also try's to nurse on my arm pit and she's 3 yrs old. Princess thinks when I make the bed its mouse hunting time and pounces and runs all over the bed. I have to remove her from the room to get her off the bed. Princess also tries to run outside when I'm leaving and rolls around on the porch till I can catch her and put her back inside. Princess also likes to pay bills and balance the check book laying on it and biting my pen while I write.

BabyMook will wait until I turn the vacuum off and then slap the crap out of it.
That is hilarious!!!  And how many cats would really like to do that!?

I was in a big hurry today, the door was open, I didn't want Nilah to go outside so I picked her up and handed her to a visitor, then did what had to be done.  When all was well and the visitor put her down, Nilah just sat at my feet and glared at me.. then she followed me around, glaring at me.  And when I stopped she would sit and keep glaring at me.

Finally she got over it and walked away but I could just feel her saying:  You handed me to someone!!   I can't believe you did that!

As well as the armpit licking my lucy is a suckler (she was weaned too early as mumma cat was ill). She likes to suckle on my fingers before she sleeps and if she cant get them I often wake up to her suckling on my chin. Or my nose. She dribbles a lot whilst she does it so it's kinda gross!

Her other cute quirky thing is she likes to sleep with her chin and paws hanging. So she sleeps at the edge of the bed/sofa/my leg with her head and paws hanging off the edge...

Bud does this weird thing where he stands up on his hind legs, puts his front paws together like he's praying, and moves his paws up and down together in a motion that looks like he's asking, "PLEASE?" while chirping. Sometimes he really does want something when he does this, other times there doesn't seem to be any reason for it.

He also gets into moods where he talks and talks and talks. Chirps, trills, mews, meows, and lots of unique vocalizations that very from exclamations of excitement at seeing a bird outside, or a "BRRRRRUUUPPH!" kind of sound when Crazy Mode is imminent and he's about to go rocketing around the house.

When I'm in my recliner laid back, Zepda will start meowing and purring incessantly and rub all over me and beg to be petted. Then she'll get right in my face and try to lick and suckle my lips. My LIPS. She's very persistent about it. I found her all by herself outside when she was just six weeks old, so I don't think she was weaned properly.

Snowy likes boxes.  Now I get cats like boxes, and drawers and cupboards, and all sorts of places to hide, but not Snowy.  Oh, she likes them for those reasons too, but the main thing she likes about boxes is to ride in them.  I keep her toys in a shoe box so I can switch them out, and if that comes out, she could care less about the toys, she wants them gone so she can get IN the box... but it doesn't stop there, she likes to be pushed around in the box.  So, I got her a bigger box.  About the size of a banker's box, its one of those boxes that printer paper comes in.  I tied a nice big purple ribbon to it for a handle.  When she sees you have the box, she comes running and dives in.  We have to make two trips around the apartment before I do our morning routine (which includes face washing - and she hates that, but the box ride makes it worth it!).   If you forget to take her for a ride, or if she gets bored, she will go jump in her box and cry.  Once you start pulling her around, she lounges like a princess on a throne and just gloats at the other cats.  She also like boxes because they make her tall enough to see stuff.  We have another box we have to keep in the kitchen and if I am cooking or washing dishes, she will run in and jump on her box and she seems like a little 2 year old standing beside me trying to see what I am doing.  I can just her say "Can I lick the bowl grandma?"

We rescued her from the shelter at age 2, but I wonder if she maybe belonged to a small child at one point. I can just see being hauled around in a wagon since she was a kitten.

mollyblue mollyblue that is the funniest thing I've heard lately... I'm rolling [emoji]128514[/emoji]

She sounds adorable and I want to smooch her :hugs:

If some child would have been lucky enough to have such a perfect playmate why would she have been let go of :(

I'm glad you have that precious baby :)

How dare you !

Mook had my husband outside last summer looking for whatever animal we had heard snarling in the back of the house. It sounded like a cross between a puma , bear and wounded sea lion. We never found even a track. The answer became clear a few weeks later when we heard the same noise and it was coming from BabyMook. She was sitting on her cat tree looking out the window giving her opinion about the stray cat on the other side of the window. We call her our indoor feral.

Kitten will retaliate for unwarranted restraint by going straight for the ankle when put down. She's never left a mark but her opinion is loud and clear. Sort of like Patrick Stewart in the Strongbow commercial . How dare you.

Thumper loves to jump on the stair case rail on the second floor (15 feet above a nasty landing zone); half the time he overshoots it and is left hanging by one paw but he saves it every time. I swear he is having fun because he always does it. I have tried everything to curb it because it freaks me out but he is a Highland Lynx and they extremely athletic. If he was a person, he would be an extreme motocross performer.

Yeah, we are glad we have her too.  She was found out at the lake, and she had already been spayed. I wonder if maybe her owners took her out on a boat with them and an accident happened...perhaps they figured she was dead when they couldn't find her and never bothered to look at shelters, etc.  This kitty loves car rides, and she HATES water.  I saw a poster here that claimed to be an animal psychic.  I reqeusted a reading on Snowy, but have not heard back yet.  I wish she could tell me her secrets!

Delilah is unclear on the purpose of cat grass:

My other cats nibble on it, but Delilah prefers to sit in it. Pretty funny since the container is a ~5 inch square. She's five months old and small for her age, but won't be able to fit much longer.

Ivy sometimes licks and bites my hair when I'm trying to sleep. I think it's her way of telling me it's time for breakfast. Better than biting my nose, maybe...?
