For about a year i have been feeding a feral and trying to trap her with no luck. Back on Sept 16, i got her by the scruff as she was eating , put her in a carrier and off to the vet i went to get her spayed (she was pregnant at the time). , She stayed 3 days at vet recuperating. After picking her up, i went to where i got her, opened up the carrier and she wouldnt budge. Left her for about 20 minutes and was still in there, so now its been almost a week, shes still wont leave the carrier(except to use the litter box- i do leave it open)and lives in my bathroom because of my 2 cats, my place being small and its been raining for two weeks.. She does let me pet her sometimes and purrs alot. What should i do? Shes been in the carrier almost a week now, everyone's telling me im being cruel, but are also saying  throw her out of the carrier. Help..

She was clearly once owned or you would not have been able to handle her as you have.

Why not add her to your fur family?

If not but you will continue to feed her daily, then set the open carrier outside exactly where you grabbed her first and leave her alone, she will go out.

She simply feels safe in there :)

So glad she is spayed though.

Been considering adopting her, just have to get my 2 to accept her. Going to try again and put the carrier back outside where i first grabbed her and see if she will leave. Been raining so hard out here lately, that i havent been able too. Will still feed and take care of her no matter what. She slept last night holding a catnip mouse that i have on a wand. A relative of mine who rescues ferals is telling me im being cruel, and need to get her back in the woods asap. Thanks for replying, appreciate it. Here is a picture of her..

I'm not sure why they would say you're being cruel.  As catwoman707 said, she's staying there as she feels safe.

It would be wonderful if you could adopt her.  You could get advice here on how to integrate her into your household.

I'd try to keep her she is beautiful. I think she just feels safe in the carrier I'm sure she comes out of it when you have the door closed. If she lets you pet her she is a good candidate for adoption....

Im definitely gonna try n get her used to my cats. She bit my hand pretty hard a moment ago, while trying to adjust her carrier towel, so she still has some wild in her but not gonna hold that against her. Thank you for replying.

Oh, she just feels so safe in the carrier. I would just leave her and she will come out and explore when she is ready. It is not cruel at all. Just leave a soft little blankie inside the carrier with the carrier door open. She will go in and out of the carrier all on her own. My recent cat still loves the carrier. I leave it in a corner in a bedroom with the door wide open. Both my cats like to nap in it at times. They must feel safe and cozy. I find nothing wrong with that. I sure hope you keep her!!

Thank you. She seems comfortable and content, she rolls around and lies on her back sometimes. I have a thick towel in there, that she will push to the side at times, but will bite or try and bite me at times if i try and adjust it.  You definitely learn patience at times like these lol.  Appreciate the reply.

Update on feral...After 2 weeks of her sleeping in my carrier and keeping her in my bathroom,( first day of no rain, sun and mid 60s) I put the carrier outside with the  carrier door open(my front door too) and went for a short walk. Coming back i noticed carrier was empty, so  i  brought carrier inside, let my cats out of my bedroom, and went to straighten up bathroom. Heard a low meow n looked in my tub and there she was. Think shes telling me, that she wants this to be her home.
