Was wondering if anyone has given a cat dog treats. All the cat treats I find are in seafood flavors. Would it be harmful to give a cat jerky like bacon etc? What about treats for a 6 month old?

I feed Orijen freeze dried dog treats to my cats. Theyr'e just meat so no issues feeding to cats. They love the free run duck and boar. I also feed the Halo treats which are for dogs and cats.

There are lots of cat treats that are meat-based
Do your local pet stores not have any? Even Petco and chain stores have a variety of treats.

Some brands of freeze dried treats can be fed to both cats and dogs even if there are separate labeled bags for each species. The product is the exact same thing, just in a large bag and treat size for dogs. Many people buy the dog PureBites treats for their cats and break the treats into smaller pieces. My cats like the freeze dried Bravo chicken treats.

I would only stick to freeze dried 100% meat based treats. Jerky treats may have things that aren't good for cats plus the texture is tough and a cat wouldn't be able to chew the treat into small enough pieces to eat.

Homemade treats like small pieces of plain cooked chicken are fine for all cats

I agree with above comments. I also feed my cats freeze dried meat treats for dogs, mostly, the bags are larger and more cost effective instead of the smaller, overpriced bags of the same thing for cats.

Cat customers always get the short end of the stick. :(

I use Bravo, Pure Bites and occasionally Orijen and Primal, for both dogs and cats.
