My lovely lady all of a sudden got these bumps yesterday. I've been trying to get rid of fruit flies in my apartment, but she's been in the apartment for months and never had these. I would have notice but could these be related? I've started plugging the sinks and drains hoping they will die out now after a major clean from previous owner. Or is this Kitty Ance? Here are some pictures. She's about a year and a half old. Spayed. I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow but can anyone say what this is and what I should be prepared for?

I don't think fruit flies bite living animals (humans or cats), do they?  Don't they like fruit?  As to getting rid of them, our exterminator told me to pour a little bleach down the drain, plug the drain, and plug any other hole in the sink (in the bathroom, there is always that extra hole higher up on the side)  Later when you unplug the holes the fruit flies should be dead.  If you have a double kitchen sink, be sure to plug both sink holes and let the bleach sit in trap for awhile.  Worked for us.  Also, be sure to wash under the flap of the garbage disposal really well was that's where they often accumulate (the fruit flies).

As to those bites, they definitely look like some sort of bite.  Are their lotsof them?  This looks like the same picture 3 times? Does NOT look like kitty acne  (that's normally on their bottom lip)   Where on her neck is this?  Top or bottom or all around?  Does she scratch at them or is she even aware she has them?  Do you have any other bugs where you are...spiders, mosquitoes, fleas?.

Oh thank you ok. I tried the bleach thing but these guys are COMBAT EVOLVED. I swear there is a DEMON that spawns them somewhere. I plugged my drains and put out traps, I don't see any unless I forget to leave the shower drain unplugged after a shower. I have traps out and they get them. So I just can't forget to do that.

Ya she does kinda scratch at area occasionally but always kinda has. She's sleeping now but she won't just stand there and scratch. There is sort of allot of them on the right side of her neck. As for energy levels, we are pretty bored. I'm single, no kids, just us and almost nothing else but a computer with linux in an apartment. Things get boring, So she has always slept allot. She still gets hyped up and plays so I think her energy level potential, when she feels like it, is ok.

I DO NOT let her outside. We have pest control in our apartment, they just come about a week and a half ago. I haven't really seen any bugs except for a roach in the kitchen ONCE and he was like dying.

I have switched to the Rachel Ray dry food here lately. Should I post the ingredients? Or are you still sure it's a bite? It's 3 photos of the same one, just wanted to get a good one in there.

Since you have pest control in your apartment, didn't you discuss these fruit flies with them?  You should...maybe they can help.

As far as the "bites" on your furbaby, no,I am not SURE that's what they are, but they look like it.  To ME, this does not look like a food allergy, however, if they just started since you switched foods, perhaps they ARE related to the new food.  I guess you could try switching back to her old food and see if they go away.  If so, then you will know and can switch to something else.

So they gave me some once daily antibiotics and some nifty shampoo for a once a week bath. They noticed some slight hairloss on her ear but didn't think it was ring worm. She does flop on the ground and roll allot. Once she had a cut on her ear from rolling on cement about a year ago.

So I could NOT get her in a cat kennel. She loves to jump up on my shoulder so I touted her out to the car like that and she started peeing right over my shoulder. Missed me by not even a hair. Whew.... *laughs*

Giving her a bath is a challenge. She is a DRAMA QUEEN!
