Hello, Happy Saturday.

Today's question is: What is your Chinese Zodiac sign? What does it say about your personality?

If you're not sure, you can find out here.

http://www.travelchinaguide.com/intro/social_customs/zodiac/rooster.htm

I'm a Snake, which is supposed to mean I'm "Soft-spoken, humorous, sympathetic, determined, passionate, smart." but I'm also "sly, fickle, nonchalant."

Horse -

The Five Elements of Horse is Fire (Huo), which symbolizes enthusiasm and energy. The animal gives people an impression of independence and integrity. Its spirit is recognized to be Chinese people's ethos - making unremitting efforts to improve themselves with passion and diligence.

Lucky Numbers: 2, 3, 7
Lucky Colors: brown, yellow, purple
Lucky Flowers: calla lily, jasmine, marigold
Lucky Directions: northeast, southwest and northwest

People with Chinese zodiac Horse sign always impress people with dynamic, zealous and generous image. Endowed with many shinning points, they also have to face the weaknesses in characteristics.

Perfect Match: Tiger, Sheep or Rabbit (Rick is a Rabbit)

  • Strengths
Most of them are born with nice personalities, such as warm-hearted, upright, easygoing, so they usually have a lot of friends flocking around. Independence and endurance makes them more powerful, and they will never give in facing the bitter suffering. Positive attitude leads everything to a bright direction.
  • Weaknesses
Loving spending is their problem, for they need a great amount of money to support social activities and decent dressing. Besides, frankness allows them to let out secret easily. Persistence is what they lack on the path leading to success.

Tiger --

Chinese Zodiac - Year of the Tiger

Chinese: 虎 hǔ
Years of the Tiger:1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022
Tigers, considered to be brave, cruel, forceful, stately and terrifying, are the symbol of power and lordliness. In ancient times, people usually compared emperors or grandees with the tiger. Court officials often said that 'accompanying the emperor is just like being at the side of a tiger'. There are also many legends about this animal.

Earthly Branch of Birth Year: Yin
Wu Xing (The Five Elements): Mu (Wood)
Yin Yang: Yang

Lucky Signs for Tiger:

Lucky Numbers: 1, 3, 4
Lucky Colors: grey, blue, white, orange
Lucky Flowers: cineraria, anthurium
Lucky Directions: south, east, southeast

Things Should be Avoided:
  • Unlucky Numbers: 6, 7, 8
  • Unlucky Colors: gold, silver, brown, black
  • Unlucky Direction: northwest
Personality of the Tiger

In most cases, they are powerful, independent, confident and brave. They have strong sense of errantry, being frank and easy to win others' trust. In their middle age, their fate may be uneven, but after hardships, they will enjoy a bright prospect. While they are also likely to be dogmatic, and like showing off when accomplishing something.

  • Strengths
Tolerant, loyal, valiant, courageous, trustworthy, intelligent, virtuous
  • Weaknesses
    Arrogant, short-tempered, hasty, traitorous
Love Compatibility of the Tiger
  • Best Matches: Dragon, Horse, Pig
They can encourage and help each other, and they can be the best lovers as well as rivals. They are all ambitious and share the same value in life and money. The couple can lead a harmonious life.
  • Bad Matches: Ox, Tiger, Snake, Monkey
They are both aggressive, and seldom make compromise, so the relationship will be nipped in the bud. If getting married, financial problems would result in their breakup.

Fortune in 2015

In general, most things go steadily without big problems. Coming across nice persons, they can defuse all the bad luck in career and business. However, they are supposed to stay on the old occupation but not change a job. Their relationship and love also get delightful prospect - the singles can find their true love and the married ones can keep their love fresh still. They need to avoid unnecessary quarrels and misunderstandings.

I looked at the link and I'm a dog so apparently I'm not fun at parties. The 2015 forecast could not have been more wrong, really practically all of the predictions were the opposite of what has happened this year.

Sheep    My ex was a tiger which is one of the bad matches.   I had seen one of these before and I was a monkey on that one, I am real close to the switch.  I think the description of the sheep's characteristics comes closer than the monkey description.

 Bow down to me, kthankx

I won't get into too much details on characteristics, since every source tends to be a tiny bit different from one another. Just some things seem to come up frequently and consistently - the most desired Zodiac for Chinese parents for their child, and one of the most respected/highest reputation. Determined, feisty, passionate, a born leader, arrogant, intolerant or bossy, natural charisma, shine in whatever career they enter, excellent instincts, intelligent, lucky in love.

Some of these I am, others I am definitely not
and lucky in love eh? Still waitin'! WHERE ARE YOU MY LOVE?

And the compatibility varies too. In that site it says Ox, Sheep, and Dog are bad for me. But in another place it says Sheep and Dragons make a strong and stable relationship. And all the predictions are different too for 2015.

This part is new to me:
  • "Blood Type A: Upright, delicate and sensitive, they are strict with themselves and people around them. They are ambitious in politics, economy and art, but passive in relationship." Kind of true, I am strict with myself, and a sensitive person, and ambitious. But I don't feel delicate and absolutely not passive.
Anyway, still interesting altogether. Back to the point and answer, I am a dragon! And it is neat being one.

I'm not into astrology myself, but an interesting fact for those of the Rabbit persuasion: in the Vietnamese version of Chinese astrology, the Rabbit is a...wait for it...CAT!
 (As I am. I'm a double-cat: Leo/Cat.)

The Vietnamese one says that I am a monkey rather than a sheep.  That must have been where I got it from previously.

A Dragon! I'm married to a Dragon, they're determined and feisty, without a doubt.

Oh, that's cool! I'm a snake and a Pisces and Mr Husband is a Dragon and a Pisces. Lots of scales in this house.

A Fire Monkey, combined with Aries.  That's a lot of heat and a fair whack of naughtiness
