We have two cats that we have had for about a month. I bought a large bag of Nutro Max Natural kitten food and they will NOT touch it. Our male cat Zach had been on Purina Kitten Chow at the shelter and I tried mixing in the Nutro with it, he will not eat it. While I was gone on a trip, my husband bought some Purina ONE and he loved it! I don't want him eating that though, because it does have some byproducts in it. I got a free bag of Authority when I adopted them so I put some of that down and they really chowed it!
I've found two medium priced foods and I'm having a hard time deciding between them. They are Authority and Maxximum Nutrition.
These are the first 6 ingredients from each of the foods:
AUTHORITY:
chicken meal
brewer's rice
corn gluten meal
animal fat preserved with Vitamin E
chicken
ground corn
MAXXIMUM NUTRITION:
chicken
chicken meal
brewer's rice
fish meal
corn gluten meal
beef tallow preserved with mixed tocopherols
To me it seems as if the Maxximum Nutrition has better ingredients because it has 3 meats or meat meals.
Thoughts, anyone?
