I never used to like cats. Then my ex and I decided to get one because we didn't have time to take care of a dog. I was set on adopting so we went to petsmart one day and picked up our first baby who we named Jelly Bean. She was 6 months old and very hesitant to be loving. She never cuddled me when I was awake, only when I was sleeping. I would wake up to her curled up in my arms purring away, but I could never get her to cuddle me on the couch. I went away on a trip for a week and when I came back, she missed me so much that she immediately jumped in my lap and purred for a solid hour. From then on, she's loved her mama cuddles.
About a month after getting Bean, I went to petsmart to pick up some more food and litter. Instead, I walked out with an 8 week old kitten that we named Wolfpack. I have forever banned myself from pet stores on adoption days. I walked up to his cage and put my hand in to pet him and he immediately rolled over in his back and let me rub his belly. Done. Heart melted, give him to me now, I'm bringing him home forever. Best impulse purchase ever.
The first few days of them being together was rough but we introduced them slowly. Bean was constantly hissing at Wolf and hitting him and it wasn't until he finally fought back that she respected him. Now they're best friends and I catch them cuddling together all the time!
