Hi yall, my name is Hazel, ya I'm a newbie, both to ure site and to taking care of this lil darlin we named Roadie. She was tiny, on the highway wobbling down the road when my husband stopped to save her. (Life #1) Adam has always been a dog person so I haven't had a cat in 20 years so imagine my surprise! We for her kitten milk and bottles, figured she was around two weeks old cuz she couldn't run without falling over! Well in the last four weeks we have done our best with her (short of a vet) she was eat up with fleas and he read it could be deadly so he bathed her, she went into shock! He revived her(life #2) she went through 2 cans of kitten milk in the first two weeks and had to be consistently prompted to poo... Uses pumpkin in her milk to the point she wouldn't touch it without the pumpkin in it! She was popping only once a day and it was getting thinner and thinner around. Her belly was full of unsuccessful poo I'm sure. He would rub her belly and prompt her with warm wet rag to go and it got to where she would try and try with no result or very little. I added Olive oil to her milk, still adding pumpkin, no great results- you could feel hard lumps down in her low belly, undoubtedly the poo. Anyways he tried to massage it downward and it must have worked but got to her lil butt hole and pooched right there, she couldn't push it out. (Life 3) He actually helped her squeeze it out of that pocket but ya know if ya ever had the issue it's not a pleasant feeling. Anyways, it caused a lil swelling and sore bottom. We decided to take her off the milk if it was just gonna keep constipating her, neither Adam or Roadie wanted to go thru THAT again.Well then she starts losing her fur on her tail! On the underside of it. Then she got lil scabs on it and a lump. (#4?) I started giving her boneless salmon cuz cats love fish right? Only thing I could think of was to add karo syrup like I did for my kids when they were babies and got constipated, changed her food to salmon thinking maybe the fur loss was an allergy.Had a pitibull that had that issue cuz she was allergic to grain. Maybe I have her to many doses of karo cuz she went to leaking poo all the time! So here she is, four weeks later and we still don't have her straightened out. He won't take her to a vet cuz he really didn't think she was gonna live thru the first week and figured she is getting better. She's sweet, smart, playful and sits on my lap constantly. I brush her with a toothbrush, she loves it. Cuz of the diarrhea she had to get a bath from the waist down yesterday and she stayed put while I blow dried her, she trusts me :-) I know this is a really long post and I won't make anymore such as this but there's so many things she's gone thru I can't ask a simple question or two so I write this to ask any and all thoughts, advise or ideas to better enlighten me with this precious lil thing. I do appreciate yall's input, please be nice about the vet thing, she will go soon for shots, worming and eventually spaying. We love, just don't have extra cash to spend on a dying kitty. (His words) but she's made it and I think she'll be fine. Now I'm to find a proper diet regimen and keep an eye on the diarrhea. Just opened a can of tuna for her since the lil pouch of salmon is about gone.

Hello again!

Roadie is too adorable! We are here to help where we can!

I suggest refraining from feeding fish. They may love it, but it's not the best food option for them. I suggest wet cat food that's chicken, turkey or any flavor that's not fish.

Really! I would think it would be one of the most natural foods for a feline. Uhh! Stereotypes! Thank you, I'll have Adam pick some up on the way home. Any brand ok? I'm sure he's gonna just go to the dollar store today,I go shopping tomorrow and will see what's supposed to be best then.
