Hey, there's a cat I've been feeding(stray) and about four days ago she came to me and had something watery in her back. It was dark so I thought it was water and only today I noticed it. It seems like an injury, but could anyone tell me from what it is(if it is something) ? There's a cat that's chasing her so it might be a bite or something. The cat I'm feeding can walk and eat properly.

The photo is upside down as I couldn't get a better shot.

The cat started not being afraid of me recently and it will be very difficult to take her to the vet as she sometimes gets scared and I'm sure she won't let me pick her up. Should I try to put something on the wound until I can take her to the vet.((Propably in about 4 hours, can't right now)). Oh and I mistakenly touched the wound, but she did not do anything strange.

It does look like it could be a cat bite. If she's living outside she's at risk from these kind of injuries. If you're unsure about picking her up open your cat carrier and put some food that she really likes or some cat nip right at the back of the carrier and see if she'll go in on her own. If not you could scoop her up in a towel and put her in there. If her head is covered she won't be able to see what's going on. If you have to do it this way it's easier with a top loading cat carrier or a carrier propped up on it's end so you can scoop her up and drop her in from the top.

While you're at the vet ask about getting her spayed Explain that she is an outdoor cat and they might be able to spay her straight away. She'll be at less risk of injury once she's spayed, plus you won't have a litter of kittens to feed and re-home.

Let us know how it goes.

Sorry for the late reply...- The doctor didn't give me any medicine as he said the injury is not serious. Although he suggested me to keep her inside, something which I did for a while. The cat is fine now and I've released her in my yard as I can't keep her inside any longer.
