Looking for anyone who has personal experience with a totally incontinent kitten. Preferably manx as well. What has worked best diet wise and what works best for severe irritation of rectum (inside and out).

Kitten is approximately 5 to 6 weeks old. Male. Currently being dewormed with panacur and albon to cover most worm issues. Was extremely constipated upon arrival and now that has mostly been cleared up. Has liquid diarrhea with some formed stool in between. Good appetite, happy and playful with sibling. He is completely incontinent and has little to no feeling around his anus. Inside of rectum/end of colon is very swollen and irritated. This isn't helping him pass stools either.

Welcome to TheCatSite.

The only time my little boy had (apparent) diarrhea -- at about seven weeks of age -- he had a course of Marquis, of Panacur, and of Metronidazole.  He had had a course of Marquis prior, starting at six days old.

Be mindful that runny or any fluid consistency stool -- whether having watery consistency or not -- may not be diarrhea.  That could be a symptom of fecal impaction -- leakage passing around fecal impaction.

Beastie Momma's Manx Syndrome kitten is incontinent also.  Here is a link to her Advice & Support thread__

Yes I am aware of that. He has diarrhea because it takes him a long time to be able to pass any kind of formed stool. He is not blocked up anymore. He just can't pass fecal material normally with his rectum issues. I am looking for what worked best because like others have found there aren't any vets around with first hand experience including my own boss and former vets I have worked with. I have worked in this field my whole career. My former boss who I took him to see yesterday even told me if it were anyone else he was consulting with he'd be talking euthanasia. Kitten is both fecal and urine incontinent and he knows I can deal with both but i don't necessarily agree with everything he recommended either so just seeing what has worked for others. High fiber diet is not going to work for this kiddo. Currently eating royal canin baby cat canned as they were handed over to rescue at a spay/neuter clinic for feral community cats in rural KY unweaned. His brother who is 1/2 pound lighter was still only taking formula this past weekend when I picked them up. I am think I might try him and his brother on a raw diet.

Did you read my baby's story over on that other thread?  There I also generally indicated some of the learning I have found on this site that I believe can be  priceless for caregivers and their cats in these cases.
