Repurposing a dry food container

I've worked on transitioning my cats to 100% canned. I'm down to the last handful of dry food and do not plan to purchase more. Any suggestions on what to do with my cat food container? Can it be repurposed to hold bulk grains if it's washed well enough?

Or will my grains smell like cat food?

Do you have a picture of the container? It would help to know what kind of size you're working with. 

If it's plastic, it might take awhile to get rid of any lingering odor. Otherwise, I don't see why it couldn't hold grains afterwards.

So I ended up realizing that I needed an additional container for litter since I buy litter in bulk. The cat food container worked great!
