Hi,
I brought my cat from Europe two weeks ago. I left him a year ago at my aunt's place before moving to the US. Before bringing him here, I checked with the vet who said he was perfectly fine. I got the cat from the shelter 3 years ago. The vet estimate his age at 12 years old. He always had some health issue such as arthritis and flakes on his fur, but appetite was never one of them! On the opposite!
My aunt put him on a diet and he stabilized at a good weight.
However, since I brought him back, he is not eating. I thought it was because of the stress of the trip. It's been two weeks and he is still not eating. I see some poops in the litter so I guess he must eat the bare minimum when I am away.
He makes a lot of sounds with his mouth (like smacking or licking his mouth). I am not sure what it means. I tried different type and brand of food.
He sleeps a lot and lately I noticed his head would drop when he falls asleep (a cat doesn't fall asleep like that?)
The vet said he was healthy but now, it's been two weeks and I am seriously concerned.
Would you have an idea of what could be the cause? and if it's a normal phase for a cat that just moved in?
