hi there
My cat gave birth to her second litter of kittens today, but she only had one kitten and it's been 8 hours. I know they can have interrupted pregnancies and the vet said if she's acting normal, eating , drinking she will be fine which she is. The only thing is about 7 hours after the pregnancy she keeps coming down stairs and will just sit in the living room with us, while the baby is upstairs crying. The baby has eaten a lot and he seems to be healthy and strong but I'm worried since there's only one of them he will get hypothermia. Any tips on how to get her to stay with her baby ? She has food water and a litter box right beside her birthing box .
Please get back to me soon !
Thank you so much

You can put a heating pad set on low under the blanket in the nest to keep the baby warm.

I would also recommend that you close the door to the room so the cat will stay with her baby, but visit frequently. She really needs to be with her baby now, even if it means closing her in.

Do you plan to spay your cat after this baby weans? Pregnancy after pregnancy is not recommended for cats.

Is it normal for my 2 day old kitten to make sucking noises or squeaking noises in her sleep ?? She's a very big healthy kitty I'm just wondering if this is normal !
Thank you

She might be simply dreaming, my 6 month old kitten does that all the time, including sucking noises. Vet told me he was just dreaming. I don't know abut a 2 day old baby, though...

It sounds very normal. Newborns (human babies) do the same thing. :)
